It's not complacency it's intense pressure. Arteta knows he has to deliver this season because a third second finish would be very disappointing and hilarious whoever wins the league. Especially if it is Liverpool.

His biggest problem this season is the health of his team. There are so many injuries and illnesses, then you add stupid yellow cards and red cards.

Based on points he is still where he was last season and though he has made the team more difficult to beat, the question is will it be enough?

If he doesn't win the league this season he should consider it a failure. Let him pray that the owners will release money to rescue himself
Be sincere, after last season
What was your expectations for the transfer
Just list the positions you feel we should have improved
Now compare it with what we got instead

That Kai transfer really deal with us
Because that's purely arteta transfer just like William
Kai is the perfect definition of jack of all positions master of none
He can't singlehandedly rescue or win games for us
Keep it simple play the players in their natural position
How hard is that
The midfield was nonsense because partey played RB, rice excel in 8
That merino ehn I just don't know

Teta don dey lie say he never see that kine pk given his whole life. Lol

17yo boy don learn bad thing already. Lol. When coach no curb am and now e dey sweet Ethan Belle to dey do.

No Saka
No Kai

Disjointed and wack transition. We can't continue this nonsense till march abeg. Any other key injury and its over. Funny enough i didn't expect much from Trossard.

Since Nelli no dey that wing, it becomes more obvious that it is how the setup is for that wing that's the major problem.
That penalty was clearly a dubious one but I fault the boys for not creating another chance to score especially in place when they could shoot but chose to pass around

Ethan is still a young boy who is not experienced and that showed in his games with the loose balls but he tried to his capacity yesterday

That trossard matter is what I chose to reserve My Comment

Immediately I saw the lines and the midfield, I knew much can’t be done in that middle especially with agent Jorginho

Yellow card aside, that guy too dey lose ball. I mentioned this few months back. He does not have that pausa yet. Is that bad? no. As a youngster, you will sometimes struggle with decision making.
You’re right he’s inexperienced and it showed in his game yesterday, I hope Arteta help him to curb those mistakes early

The midfield actually became worse when Odegaard came in. Odegaard was sick.
I’m talking of the creativity aspect of the game cause Rice wasn’t creative enough and the match swallowed him for some minutes

It's only in England where the refs are celebrities. That's because they live to attract attention to themselves. A penalty not given us better than a giving controversial one.

Especially Taylor, he is so full of himself. UEFA does not even recognise him.
Taylor himself wasn’t sure that was a ok yesterday

Now I understand why some fans go after coaches who makes the wrong call in a match

We had the last transfer to rectify all these issues
Letting viera and esr go we thought new additions were coming

Exactly
Smith Rowe transfer pained Me, I don’t care about Viera cause he’s hasn’t impressed Me same as Merino. Esr is now playing match upon match in Fulham

Even the defenders he bought are starting to look like hospital agents

This place is getting too toxic.

Please let’s try and enjoy our support for the team and let’s try and avoid clashes with each other over footballers that are getting paid millions of pounds yearly .

Whether we come last in the league or win the league , Arteta and every member of his team will get paid millions of pounds in annual income . Make we no too Dey fight each other over differences in our opinions about the team we all love . It’s not worth .

I didn’t really watch the match yesterday because I was out , but it appears we didn’t really play well as reflected in the result . But we shouldn’t let that get us emotional and be getting at each other . Let’s just support the club in our own respective ways however we deem it fit .

Please let love lead 🙏.

I'll like Arteta to watch Liverpool more and implement their setup with our current squad.

I like how their FBs and forwards are not carrying much defensive responsibility unlike ours. Why are they free? They're playing 3 combative (and technical midfielders).

I had this in mind when I jokingly listed that 'mechanic' midfield trios.

However, this comes at a risk. The gaps at the back might get exploited especially while playing against fast wingers.

You set up ur team based on the skill set of the players at ur disposal ; you can’t set up ur team in isolation from ur players’ skill set and how comfortable they are on the ball.

If u notice , Arteta’s team set up has not been static since he joined us. At some point we were playing ultra defensive when he joined initially and we had remnant of players from Good Ebening’s time at Arsenal . He was parking the midfield and defence with defensive minded players .

Later he switched it up and started building attack I from the back with zinchencko inverting and driving our attack play . However , that came with its attendant problem which always leaves our backline exposed when Zinchecko is caught sleeping upfront .Zinchecko being weak defensively also didn’t help matters so he had to do away with that game play .

Presently I think it’s injury to our full backs that is our current albatross . I know we have fans that blame Arteta for continually using partey as RB but I personally don’t think he’s doing that by choice . It’s because White and Tomiyasu have continued to struggle with injury/match fitness which has made it inevitable for him to use a makeshift RB in the person of Partey .

Another thing is our players’ indiscipline and copping of unnecessary yellow cards is a major issue that needs to be addressed . If Timber had not copped a yellow in the last match , he would’ve played yesterday as a RB and I believe the result would’ve been different . Partey playing makeshift RB Was inevitable yesterday and Nwaneri not experienced enough to provide the kind of cover Saka usually does on that right wing affected our ball progression from that side yesterday .

Trossard and Martinelli both being out of form at the same time has also affected us this season . Arteta sure has his faults but at times the players too do not cover themselves with glory after the coach trusts them and gives them a chance .

Finally , like every true fan that wants the club to succeed , I hope Arteta and the club management don’t mess up this current transfer window like they did the summer . They should sign quality players and stop the rubbish of signing other club rejects

Well, this is excellent. I didn't even take into consideration, your first paragraph. Now thinking about it, there is no way Arteta would leave Odegaard out. However, I would still want him to have it in mind going into transfer market. It could be our plan B.

Your other paragraphs are spot on as well. I mean fans who keenly follow the team wouldn't miss out on all these details. The players were too sloppy yesterday and I would maybe blame it on the virus.

I was reading how fans were bashing and cursing the coach yesterday for subbing Nwaneri, playing Partey at RB and benching Odegaard. Three decisions that were forced o.

If na Arsenal match, they wouldn't give this penalty.

The explanation would be that De Ligt was already moving his hand away or that the proximity was too close.
