Here's a rewritten version with a dash of humor and entertainment:

"DISASTER STRIKES!

Yesterday, I slaved away in the kitchen till 10:30 pm, whipping up a storm - Okro soup and Ofe Akwu for today's rice. I mean, who needs sleep when you're cooking up a masterpiece?

Fast forward to this morning, I woke up feeling like a boss, ready to add the final touches. But, little did I know, my kitchen had other plans!

As I approached the pot, I noticed something was off. The soup was...SWOLLEN ! Like, what even is that?! I turned around, thinking it was a prank, but nope! I was alone in my kitchen, with no hidden cameras in sight!

Long story short, my beautiful Banga had gone bad! I felt like crying, like, seriously, who wouldn't?! All that hard work, down the drain!

I called my mum (because, let's be real, mums know best !), and she suggested adding some charcoal to the soup. Charcoal?! Like, is that even a thing?!

Now, I'm on a mission to rescue my soup! I'll be heading to the market to get some charred coal. Wish me luck!

If you've got any magic remedies, share them with me! I'm all ears!

P.S. Sunday lunch plans have been officially cancelled. "
CandyOps:
Yesterday I dey kitchen till almost 10.30pm
Cooked okro soup and Ofe Akwu for today's rice. With well seasoned beef

As I woke up happily to go an warm it and it was looking a bit swollen with tiny little bubbles popping up.

Hmmm maybe na prank
I turned around to check. But na my house so I no expect to see hidden camera.

Na so this banga take spoil.
The idea was to include some more veggies and stock fish to the stew this morning b4 dishing it into the storage containers for freezing.

Hmmm! *sighs deeply*

At that moment i wished I was a babe so I would have no excuses than to start crying like a child.

I legit felt like crying at that instant because WTF?! And fridge dey o

I had to go borrow a bigger pistle & mortar from a neighbour to get this stew done faster that yesterday and now it's spoilt?

This can't be true.
I just bent over the pot to perceive the aroma but... Nothing. No odd smells. But it's def going bad

Madd! 😠

Its over 3 hours now since I warmed it up again. I want to know if there's any solution to make it taste any better as it kinda slaps a bit and not so fresh any more

. I feel like calling my babe to ask for a solution but remember say I no get babe .. now I'm double mad! 😡 💢

Called mumsy and she advised to add some balls of charcoal to it.

I think I understand how women feel when they have drastic mood swings and go from happy to erratic in seconds. That's me rn.

I went from having the mental composure of Master Shifu (see Kungfu Panda) to that of a 3yo baby.

So now... Sunday lunch will be replanned.
Any remedy to the soup? Any hope huh

I'm omw to the market to get some charred coal. I'll check suggestions so I'll buy anything I need at once

Drop some pieces of CHARCOAL in the soup and leave for a while. The soup will be restored to default setting

You guys need to learn survival skills like chewing CHARCOAL incase of poisoning...

@OP Go and marry.. before you'll cook something that'd kill you.

On a lighter note, prepare the banga (oil soup) separate from the egusi . Igbo people too like oily things.

Banga no dey quick spoil like that na. The oil on the surface will occlude bacteria from spoiling the stew.

You should have removed the foamy part, then add onions before warming it.

I'm surprised to hear that Banga wey you cook spoil...from the point you off fire to when you on the fire no 10hrs,for it to cool properly go take approximately 2hrs because na oil,so you no really talk wetin do the soup. .... next time you see foam inside your stew or soup, before you warm, make sure you remove the whole foam better still, clear the surface and put 2pcs or 3pcs of charcoal in it then warm

I don't know, I'm no expert but you may just serve it and refrigerate it as soon as possible, to prevent further degradation.

And each time, as you warm after defreezing, check for the taste to upgrade - maybe more crayfish, more nchu anwu (scent leaves), more ogili, salt....

Also, try not to cover the pot immediately after cooking.

I want to cook the soup but no energy and it can consume gas sometimes.

Funny post though. cheesy

Well done for being the only person thusfar to provide a possible solution; You sound like you are an excellent cook. Are you a professional cook or in the restaurant business?
DrAda:
This happens to the best of us.

To fix this, I always add more crayfish and ahigbe leaves also called ncho anwu or scent leaves. It helps but the taste will never be the same.

Next time, do the following
1. Never close the pot completely after cooking. This will allow steam to escape and prevent condensation, which can create a damp environment that will cause the food to spoil faster.

2. Use a clean spoon each time you taste the soup, and avoid putting the same spoon back into the pot. Saliva on the spoon can introduce enzymes and bacteria that might speed up the process of spoilage.
