| Re: Generation Beta Begins This Year. by DaddyCoool(f): 1:53pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
naptu2: Konquest:But they were called that because there was a baby boom (unusually high birthrate) IN THE WEST (especially US) durring that period. No such unusually high birthrate (baby boom) occurred in Nigeria and Africa! |
| Re: Generation Beta Begins This Year. by DaddyCoool(f): 1:56pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
Proudlyngwa:They're both Gen Z. Nothing like Gen Alpha. Next to emerge will be Gen AI |

| Re: Generation Beta Begins This Year. by DaddyCoool(f): 2:09pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
Proudlyngwa:These are their individual characteristics. Has nothing to do with Gen. Generational attitudes are usually a result of something specific occurring - example, Tinubu/Buhari hardship and Japa mentality, or AI. At a time Japa mentality will go away creating a generation with a different mentality |
| Re: Generation Beta Begins This Year. by naptu2(op): 2:46pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
DaddyCoool:Wrong. They were called that because there was a GLOBAL baby boom. The global birth rate was declining in the 1930s, that decline halted and then the baby boom began after World War 2. Let me guess, you are also going to say that Millenials are called millenials because it was only the West that entered the third millenium? |
| Re: Generation Beta Begins This Year. by meobizy(m): 3:06pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
Gen X individuals causing a nuisance by debating with Gen Alphas. This forum really is a leveler. |
| Re: Generation Beta Begins This Year. by DaddyCoool(f): 3:56pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
naptu2:You are actually the one wrong. See below. As for Millenials, I think the name fools you. The date is '81- '96. Consider Gen Z. Their most prominent characteristic is concern for environment (climate change), and not caring too much about high salary or accumulation of wealth but about life satisfaction. In Nigeria it is the opposite - get rich by any means and yahoo and japa!

DaddyCoool:Kai! How can something so simple be so difficult for you to understand? You don't even understand what the term millenials means! I am beginning to doubt that you are serious and now I wonder whether I should continue with this conversation. Are you sure that you are not an alternate account of one of those trolls, because nobody would seriously type so much rubbish like you did in your last post. I'll give it one more go. Let me guess, you believe that the term millenials means people that were born around the millenium? You are wrong! The term millenials means people that became adults at the turn of the millenium. DO YOU ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND IT NOW?? Then you posted some rubbish about Nigerian birth rate! What has that got to do with the conversation? (At least you acknowledged that Nigeria's birth rate was increasing, but that wasn't my point in the first place) I told you that people of that generation are called baby boomers because of a boom in GLOBAL BIRTH RATE. Do you understand the term global birth rate? Basically, it's like you discovered that you were wrong and decided to through a bunch of red herrings to divert attention. |
| Re: Generation Beta Begins This Year. by DaddyCoool(f): 4:26pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
naptu2:I knew you'd jump at the Millenial thing. Why would someone born in '81 be considered Millenial but not someone born in '75?? And how does someone born in '96 become "adult at the turn of the millenium"?? And why not someone born in 2000, the actual millenium?! Just showing you were hanging too much on the term "Millenial" when it is actually not descriptive. As for Baby Boom. Google it, there was no special baby boom in Nigeria and Africa after World War Ii. So why are we partaking in "Baby boom generation"?? You of course carefully avoided the Gen Z discussion. Bottom line, generation delineations can't be global. They have to be by countries or regions. One thing may be happening in US and the opposite in Russia! |

I didn't bother to read that guy's reply, because I figured out that he is an alternate account of those trolls. Everybody knows that millenials are the generation of people that became adults around the year 2000. You can even see it in my first post. Everybody also knows that the term millenials is not limited to the West. For example: Indian Millennials: Who Are They, Really? https://www.alephbookcompany.com/book/indian-millennials-who-are-they-really/ Generation of Millennials in Russian Society: In Search of Another Youth https://www.politstudies.ru/en/article/5730 If he doesn't know this, then that's his problem, not mine. Everybody knows that the term baby boomers is not limited to the United States or even the West (the recent popular reply, "OK boomer" originated in the Australian Parliament, not in the US). Everybody knows that there was a global baby boom after the Second World War and countries like Brazil and Russia (and he himself admitted that it included Nigeria) experienced this. If he doesn't know this, that's his problem, not mine. Everybody knows that many different people characterise generations based on many different things and that's why we have the internet generation, the MTV generation, the Indomie generation, etc. If he doesn't know this, then that's his problem, not mine. |

Don't tell me that guy is still trying to get my attention. He's simply deceiving himself. Meanwhile: Baby boomers, often shortened to boomers, are the demographic cohort preceded by the Silent Generation and followed by Generation X. The generation is often defined as people born from 1946 to 1964 during the mid-20th century baby boom. By this dating, the youngest of them are 60, while the oldest are 79.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baby_boomers |

CJStarz:GenZ is the most loud, because they have the largest number of adult ladies in their prime/peak of relationship/marriage. From 2032, Gen Alpha girls will become at least 20yrs then, GenZ ladies will be totally off the market. These things reminds us that life follows a process. Gen Beta will be in their own glory from 2045..Such a long time. |

naptu2: Silent Generation 1928 - 1945So called because they saw the Great Depression, the 'Great War' (WW2) and social upheavals that brought about paradigm shifts in political ideologies Baby Boomers 1946 - 1964Irreverent, very any how generation. |

Ishilove:Whaaat?! You deserve the "naughty corner treatment" (with some soft spanking in the mix). You're referring to me as a "Senior Citizen" living on Social Security benefits? Where's that coming from? *smirk* 1]. A senior citizen is an older person who is usually over the age of 60 and is retired or receives an old age pension. The term describes someone whose main source of support is Social Security benefits. Synonyms of "senior citizen" include: Pensioner, Retired person, and Old age pensioner. 2] Baby Boomers (1946 - 1964). Generation X (1965 to 1980). In rounding off, the boundaries between each of the separate but close generations are very fluid. There are folks in the "upper end" of Generation X who can easily pass for Baby Boomers born in the "lower end." As of 2025, the oldest or "upper end" of Generation X folks will turn 60 years of age. |
