This richer than who discussion dey give nursery vibes........December was truly detty in Lagos.
Alot of people and celebrities came back home.
The bold is actually true.

Almost every morning in the month of December around 6am to 8am u will see different exotic cars parked in front of club DNA opposite Eko hotel, VI . People who clubbed there overnight will be making their way out with different area boys waiting on them for hand outs.

Some of them even have their police and military escorts parked outside waiting on them.

The same thing with Vaniti on Adeola Odeku, VI.

It leaves me wondering what will Secret place, Quilox, Cubana, and Hardrock cafe look like that same period. People really balled this December o

Lagos night life has nothing to do with good or bad economy.

The ballers are not the regular working class, civil servant, traders or artisans. The ballers are returnees, Yahoo boys and maybe crypto boys who have dollars to convert to naira to fund the expensive lifestyle. If economy enter comatose, they will still spend the money.

That being said, I think Nigerians just like to party and throw money around. I was at a party on Saturday and the host had 4 different artistes who took turns to play. I got there around 5pm and by 10.30pm while I was leaving the 4th musician was still singing. I was told that there was an after party and a 5th musician played during the after party.

The host is an engineer who has group of companies; he usually does annual thanksgiving party at the beginning of a new year. He usually takes a full year to prepare for his parties.

A musician who holds a grammy award definitely qualifies to referred to as A-list. An artist who sells ticket and fills stadia and large event space in places like UK, Australia, etc sure qualifies to be called an A-list artist.

You may not agree, but the workings are there for everybody to see and draw inference.

Okay let me ask: What is A-list to you?

Indeed those cryptoboys hold money....my cousin who travelled to Malaysia and returned this year after 2 years have spent North of 200 million on Real Estate alone.

Not counting money spent on jewelry......pure gold chains and bangles I kid you not or those spent on clubbing.

Its my position that very many Nigerians(mostly Christians sha) spend 70% of their yearly income within the 3 weeks of the December.......many of our people really love too show up and are just too reckless financially.

More reason why I no dey like hear borrow me money......

A genre or category was created for us,can he compete with drake and the likes for album of the year, best hip hop or pop artist...that is the angle where i am looking at it from.

But Burnaboy, Wizkid,Davido and co don't sing Hip Hop. So why would u want them to win best hip hop artists?

They sing Afro-beats/afro-centric music and they have been making our sound appeal to people who are neither Africans nor pro- Afro tunes.

They don't need to compete with the likes of Drake and co before they are regarded as A-list artists. Once ur music is gaining global appeal and people are identifying with ur craft all over the world, nothing stops u from being referred to as A-list. If Obama could share his playlist and it had Burna boy's songs on them, it really shows his music is getting to right ears globally.

Lending people money without any collateral security in this part of the world is a very unwise decision. People in this part of the world generally don't like to return any money they borrow.

Look at all those soft loan apps, Nigerians will borrow money from them and stop picking their calls when it is time to pay back.

Nigerians will borrow airtime from MTN,Airtel, etc and then proceed to break their sim card or stop using the sim.

Even businessmen who borrow money from banks with collateral security will still end up refusing to payback when the loan is due for repayment. If u check the list of debtors on AMCON list u will a lot influential Nigerian business owners owing loans up to billions in Naira which they have failed to pay Nigerian banks back.

When people ask for loans based on self-recognition, it is always advisable u give them whatever u can afford as gift and don't expect it back.

This may be the real reason Nigeria is where it is today. Because embezzled money was spent on partying rather than solid viable infrastructure

It is very easy to get carried away by the need for unnecessary flossing and shakara

It actually sounds like the mental illness we were arguing about.

I agree with u that it looks like a mental illness disguised as flex sha. But then again, u can't dictate to people how they will spend their money. However, if it is embezzled funds then the law should take its course.

You never see correct bankers to launder money for you, na those illiterates you go give to launder?

They are into fraud most likely, maybe drugs but most likely fraud

Hate on Burna at your own risk. Odogwu no be anybody mate. Don't underestimate his drive and work ethic despite the plenty Igbo smoking. Burna outworks everyone in the industry. Na Wizzy and Davido dey take vacations, not Burna. His financial discipline is questionable especially his expenditure on cars but the money plenty.

Yes.

I said yes because he would've put serious hard work in his craft for him to even get nominated . Winning the word further signifies that the fact that he has global appeal which made him to be recognized as the best amongst his peers.

That's the essence of awards.

It's just like asking if Emiliano Martinez is world class because he won the Yashin trophy; we all know the answer is a big yes.

CP is just as loud as majority of Nigerians are stupid. How can someone who is supposedly richer than Burna be doing bouncer for Davido and always recording videos in awe whenever Davido unveils a new car. It's crazier when you factor their age difference.

Obi might want to call the fat pig to order before his loud mouth puts them in trouble. One of Obi's very close associate "Nwanyi Amawbia" was fingered in human parts trade in 2023. The last thing Obi needs is one of his associates involving himself in any publicity stunt.
Davido is the patron of fraudsters. He willingly seeks them out, and enjoys their way of living. Why go and seek out Pastor Tobi Adeboyega who has ruined so many lives with his scams? Why always around CCP? Why did he dupe Nigerians with that crypto project. Even before his music career took off, he was involved in many schemes and cheating people. His early associates from the streets are Sinzu and Dammy Krane, two notorious fraudsters.

First off, they didn’t create anything for us—our people did.
And why do you want Burna to compete with Drake for best hip hop or pop artist? Why not ask Drake and the others to switch up their style and compete with him instead?

I get that you might not be a fan of Burna, and that’s cool. His personality makes it hard for a lot of Nigerians to vibe with the guy. But let’s not downplay the impact our artists have made in the world. They earned their success, it wasn’t just handed to them abeg!
