With Akpabio at the Head in Senate, every Bill is freely passed. Tinubu is such a Lucky President. Bukola Saraki didn't allow Buhari to do must of his wishes.
If it is Bukola that is heading this Senate, we would have brought out videos of when he did human sacrifice, we will use that to pocket him forever. Tinubu is not Buhari. Tinubu is the master of the game, the god of Politics

The Bauchi governor who made the threat should be carefully warned.

The Northern governors who kicked against this bill should go back and work on their blueprint and map out ways to improve their governance rather than expecting too much assistance from the FG and VATs from other states.
Why yo dey advise them, leave them nah. Na hunger go kee all parasites

Should I say that these northern governors will at the end make a big fool of themselves? Well, it's obvious there's difference in the northern education and southern education. The explanations given by the tax experts with vivid comparison between the current tax system and the proposed tax system are clear and understandable enough for primary 4 pupils in the public schools. The governors shouldn't show to the world that they are cows in all circumstances.

In as much as I am an ardent supporter of Tinubu I have my reservations regarding this tax reform.

Looking like robbing Paul to pay Peter but still staining a noose around Peter to take back from him.

In Kenya if your salary is less than 300k per month, or 3.6m per annum, you will be exempted from paying personal income tax.
What tinubu and den of 40 thieves are proposing is that it's only minimum wage that earn less than 70k per month will be exempted from personal income tax

It now means that if someone salary is 80k.15% of 80k is 15k, and the person take home will now be 65k. You cN see the kind of heartless rulers we have and they are Indifferent to the economic struggle average Nigerians are facing.
Worst part about this tax bill is that they didn't calculate the inflationary effect on the disposable income of Nigerianz

Worst part is that we still have consumption tax, that the 65k disposable income earner will have to pay indirectly.

My recommendation is for the PIT should be review and set a better standard of living wage tHt will be exempted. 800k is too poor and this govt should stop looking at Nigeria as a pest.

There are reductions in tax for the big corporations as well.

You lots have just been arguing blindly about this bill without having details about it.

Individual, business owners, corporate, there is going to be reduction in their overall taxing

The bill aims is to increase the tax base while reducing the taxation. That will still bring increase in tax collection
Most of them no dey and comprehend but are fast to call others literate. They are empty heads and hateful souls

Illiteracy is a disease.
You read or they read it to you but you still couldn't understand.

The tax bill is pro poor because if you earn less than 1,2m in a year, you are not paying tax, unlike now when even if you make 300 thousand in a year, you will pay 7% tax.
That is wickedness and it inhibits growth of the individual. SMEs are exempted firm paying tax etc .

You must be one of those smugglers and their cohorts trying to fight the tax bill

For your information, the tax bill will be passed and it will bring a lot of growth and positivities to Nigerians and Nigeria.
LOL who told you if you earn 1.2m naira you be exempted. Oga it's from 70k per month yiu will be exempted and consumption tax is hanging to feast on the rest. Standard of living but be set or less than 800k annually. Quote any where where it's stated it's 1.2m per annum before tax can be set for exemption.

But mind u, it's every Nigerian that will pay it abi? Then it's fine by us.
Ojuntana:
The tax bill is a needless distraction

A lot of ignoramus are forming woke with bills that they don't even understand because they think it only hurts the "parasitic" North.

Unfortunately for most of this woke but unintelligent southerners, VAT compliance is low in the north which accounts for why there's low VAT returns.

In other words, southerners will see a further shrink in their income with the increase in VAT by 20% to 12.5% from 7.5%.

Thus, when you buy something of N5000, instead of the present N375 VAT which makes the total cost N5,375, you will pay N625 VAT which makes the total cost of your purchase go up from N5,375 to N5,625.

If you paid via transfer, you will pay extra 5% VAT on the amount transferred and a another N50 for electronic levy recently introduced which will make your total cost N5,675 instead of the initial N5,000.

Now imagine having to pay N675 extra any time you spend N5,000. That's what the VAT aspect of the bill does to the average Nigerian.

Why so much rush & haste in passing this bill? I am suspecting something. I know that if it were for the good and benefit of the masses it won't take this same speed and rush. For instance, the minimum wage bill was delayed before passage. Another example will be electoral reform that must include compulsory transmission of results in real time not that manual rubbish! But they ll not give it the needed speed and attention just because it ll not favour them.
Very selfish set of people.
Why won't they rush the bill? Once the bill is passed, Nigerians won't pay VAT on food, education, health etc

Nigerians earning less than 1.2m per year are presently paying tax, once the bill is passed, Nigerians earning less than 1.2m will not pay tax. If you're a tax payer, what you will be paying will after the bill is passed will be reduced compared to what you're presently paying.

A lot of SMEs earning #25m or less are presently paying tax, once the bill is passed, SMEs earning less than #50m per year won't pay any tax.

The tax bracket will be enlarged and tax payers will pay less. The FG, States and LG will alao get more money.

Even if no human nor spirit supports the Bills, we will pass them. As a Muslim, it is Haram to use VAT from Beer to sponsor Almajaris to Mecca for pilgrimage and also marry multiple wives for them. Let Northerners go and get Islamic approved money to marry many wives and go to Mecca
The northern states practicing sharia will still be getting VAT from beer, just that what they get from it will reduce.

The big corporations that will pay 25% will still push the cost down to the consumers. You think they'll pay the 25% from their own revenue? When has that ever happened? All the naira devaluation and subsidy removal, who has been bearing the brunt in the name of price increase? Is it not still the same dude earning 1.2m?
This has been my question and fear.
When the poor are excepted, from where are the rich making their money or going to pay tax from?

It means that anybody in the North,South or wherever will not have to pay tax on their agric produce.
If you sell for 10 billion naira, you are the owner of your 10 billion naira without you paying tax.
It gives farmers lot and lot of space to make good, cool money which in turn makes them grow more and also makes farm produce cheaper.

grin grin The bloody parasites from the North are only opposing the TRB because it would remove their suckers, proboscis and haustellum from the livestream of nourishment.
Revenue generated from VAT on alcohol production in the South should not allocated to alcoholic drinks destroying states of the North.
This TRB should ensure that parasitic states don't feed off other states.
