Atiku Warns APC Over Threat Against Peter Obi by Heavens1stson(op): 11:58am On Jan 07, 2025
The inflammatory remarks issued by the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, directed at @PeterObi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last general election, serve as a disturbing emblem of the current administration's unsettling strategy in addressing opposition figures. This threat against Obi, coupled with the prolonged detention of Mahdi Shehu, a prominent voice of dissent and others, signals a worrisome shift towards an authoritarian governance model, where the rights of opposition voices are being suffocated.

The choice of words used by the APC’s spokesperson, particularly the ominous suggestion that Obi has "crossed the line," reveals an alarming disdain for democratic principles. Such language, rooted in hostility, has no place in a free society where civil discourse and engagement should reign supreme. A true democracy thrives on the healthy exchange of ideas, where the criticisms and contributions of opposition leaders, like Peter Obi, are seen as vital for the betterment of governance and the promotion of public accountability.

It is not merely the right, but the solemn duty of a democratic government to listen attentively to the voices of its critics, to engage in meaningful dialogue, and to allow space for the articulation of alternative viewpoints. Instead, we are faced with a chilling threat that suggests Obi must "be ready for whatever comes his way." What, exactly, does Mr. Morka imply by this? It is imperative that the ruling party provides clarity on this disturbing insinuation.

Equally troubling is the crude and disparaging manner in which the APC spokesperson has framed Peter Obi's calls for constructive engagement, likening them to a lawless Wild West scenario. Such reckless and derogatory expressions cannot be tolerated, and it is incumbent upon the APC to issue a formal apology to Obi and the Nigerian people for such disgraceful language.

The case of Mallam Shehu, languishing in detention without any clear explanation for his continued imprisonment, adds to the growing concern about the erosion of freedoms in Nigeria. If there is anyone who has truly "crossed the line," it is the Tinubu administration, whose continuous vilification of opposition figures as mere irritants to be crushed is a dangerous precedent.

It is now time for all men and women of goodwill to intervene, urging the @officialABAT government to recalibrate its approach to dealing with dissent and opposition. The time has come to put an end to this stifling of voices that are crucial to the health of any functioning democracy. -AA

The hypocrisy of batidiots and Reno mockery is at the highest level. Noticed that nobody is talking about the threat on Peter Obi and his family, nobody is writing epistle. But assuming Felix Morka was obidient, fóolish Reno mockery and other batidiots would've written a whole bible pages on Twitter giving his fellow deluded bastards reasons why Obi shouldn't be voted for because of his supporter's threat on someone's life. God punish any fool supporting Tinubu.

They could not unite to defeat the candidate they assumed they could defeat, but they can unite in solidarity.

That tells you why they lost.

As for Atiku's defence of Mahdi Shehu, where was Atiku when Mahdi Shehu shared an old video from 2013 to spread a propaganda that Nigeria had allowed French to set up a military base in Nigeria?

Dear Atiku, Peter Obi claimed his family and himself were threatened. Did you even bother to ask him what kind of threats were issued?

You are a statesman. Act like one and call for calm, not make fiery comments for political expediency.

emkz:
Let's look at history.

There is a candidate in Nigeria who called election "religious war". He threatened that the publication be taken down or he'd sue. The publication was not taken down and he has not sued.

After losing elections, he and his followers went on to make provocative statements. Judges were threatened. Their families were threatened.

Did he caution the mob?

They accused someone of being a drug lord, of having double nomination of his running mate and of sundry things. They have not explained their claim to victory till today.

They still believe he won. They insist we must believe it too.

His followers on nairaland are quick to deploy insults and threats because they know no better.

Within 48 hours, two of his followers threatened me. One said I'd not last while another one said this year would be my end. The mob supported the attacks. To them, anyone who criticizes their god or anything he says deserves to die.

The same mob threatened Reno Omokri and his daughter. Reno asked their god to call the mob to order. He did not. So long as their god got what he wanted, death threats were tools to silence or force support.

Only on new year's day, the candidate claimed he was being ignored by friends and associates because as an opposition leader, the odds were stacked against him. He then said if that was the end, so be it. The APC National Publicity Secretary simply said whatever he wished upon himself, he should face it. Only for the same candidate to come out to allege him and his family received threat messages. His followers never asked for the threat messages but ran to town to claim his life was being threatened.

They have tried to unsuccessfully explain the threat.

Tinubu was an opposition leader. Buhari was an opposition leader. Atiku was an opposition leader. They criticized government and government policies. Never did their followers issue death threats.

Tinubu was docked by a PDP Government. Did he allege threat to life? Buhari's convoy was bombed in Kaduna under a PDP Goverment. Did he allege threat to life? Atiku was victimized by his own boss. Did Atiku allege threat to life?

Threat to life is a serious issue. It must he reported to the police and not used as a tool to rile up an unthinking mob.

The mob wants to set the country on fire because they were defeated. They banked on church votes while their candidate did not campaign vigorously in areas with huge voting strengths. He was defeated in those areas.

If divisiveness and threats could not win for them in 2023, why would they win in 2027?

Their lord and master has not shown the maturity to lead a nation. He believes in mob action and that can only destroy things.

If the politician feels heat is too much, he can follow the Trudeau example.

Peter Obi is copying the strategy used by Nnamdi Azikiwe and Nnamdi Kanu...

Make false claims that there are assassination attempts on your life so you can portray yourself as a Martyr and get pity support.

Hush!! Threats were obvious in the words used by Felix Morka, unless you choose to be blind to it.

Even AI can spot the threat.

Question: Is there a threat in this message?

'I am not somebody to go on the offensive in that manner, but Mr Obi has crossed the line so many times and I think that at this point he has coming to him, whatever he gets, he needs to manage it.'

AI: Yes, there is a veiled threat in this message. While it doesn't contain explicit language, the tone and phrasing imply a warning or a prediction of consequences for Mr. Obi's actions. The phrase "he has coming to him, whatever he gets" suggests that the speaker believes Mr. Obi will face repercussions or retaliation for his behavior. The overall tone is one of indignation and a sense of justification for potential consequences.

Question: Could it be a threat of assassination?

AI: While the message doesn't explicitly mention assassination or physical harm, it's possible to interpret it as a veiled threat of severe consequences, including physical harm or even assassination.

The phrase "whatever he gets, he needs to manage it" could be seen as a euphemistic way of suggesting that Mr. Obi will face severe repercussions, potentially even violence.

However, without more context or information about the speaker's intentions, it's difficult to determine the exact nature of the threat. Law enforcement or authorities may need to investigate further to assess the credibility and severity of the threat.

Question:
The writer of the statement works for a ruling party, currently governing the country. Mr Obi is a member of an opposition party.

What are the implications of the statement?

AI: The statement's implications are quite serious, especially given the context of Nigerian politics. With the writer being part of the ruling party and Mr. Obi belonging to an opposition party, the statement can be seen as a threat to Mr. Obi's safety and a form of intimidation.

In a democratic system, opposition parties play a crucial role in holding the ruling party accountable and providing alternative perspectives. However, in Nigeria, the opposition has faced significant challenges, including weakened institutions and a lack of effective checks on the ruling party's power.

The statement's tone and language suggest a sense of hostility and aggression towards Mr. Obi and the opposition party. This kind of rhetoric can contribute to a toxic political environment, where opposition voices are silenced or intimidated.

Furthermore, the statement may be seen as a form of psychological warfare, aimed at demoralizing the opposition and undermining their confidence. This can have far-reaching implications for the health of Nigeria's democracy and the ability of opposition parties to participate in the political process ².

Overall, the statement's implications are disturbing and highlight the need for greater accountability, transparency, and respect for opposition voices in Nigerian politics.

Can you also query A.I. about what Peter Obi meant when he said in his infamous press conference that whatever it came to, he was prepared for it?

MasterJayJay:

That was Obi pre-empting something.

Why is it that everything with Obi and his mob involves war and threats? "Religious war", you people threatened judges, threatened their children, threatened Reno Omokri, threatened his infant daughter; two of your kind even threatened me with death and were supported by more Obidients here.

No one wages war against Obi and Obidients. Obi wages war against himself by telling himself a lie, believing it and issuing statements to promote it. Obidients simply run with whatever he says because their processing scope is extremely shallow.

He doesn't have the qualities of a Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces. He is at best Commander-of-the-Mob. Imagine if the mob was armed.

Here is what Felix Morka said:
"He'd think he can being down the government by simply being maliciously deceptive. That is wrong. I am not somebody to go on that offensive in that manner but Mr Obi has crossed the line so many times and I think that at this point, he has coming to him whatever he gets, he needs to manage it"
Because Obidients have been using A.I. tools to argue for a death threat against Mr Peter Obi, I queried ChatGPT to analyze the statement and this is what was returned:

The statement appears to express a sense of frustration and disapproval toward someone (presumably Mr. Obi), who is perceived to be using deceitful tactics to undermine or harm the government. The speaker seems to believe that Mr. Obi has crossed ethical or moral boundaries repeatedly and is now deserving of any consequences that might arise from his actions. The speaker also emphasizes that they don't typically resort to such aggressive or offensive measures, but given Mr. Obi's actions, they feel that he must now face the repercussions and manage the situation he has created for himself.

Re: Atiku Warns APC Over Threat Against Peter Obi by Bobloco:
Let me reiterate once again that Felix Morka is a madman.

He should take a trip down memory lane to pre-2015 and reflect on the numerous lines and bridges his party, the APC, crossed during the Goodluck Jonathan government through using outright lies, falsehoods, and propaganda, issuing threats now and then, and hauling fire and brimstone at the Goodluck Jonathan government to the extent of even threatening to form a parallel government.

No one told the APC back then that they had crossed the line... and that anything they see, they should take.

Like I stated earlier, Felix Morka is a madman, roaming and wandering aimlessly, and only APC mad dogs take him seriously.

A man who threatened the Muslim Ummah with "Religious War" and has still not admitted to it or apologised for it, is now accusing the Tinubu administration of threatening his and his family's life?

Believe that, and you will believe anything!
