There is this ibo woman(we call her Iya-ibo) in my area, she sells foods, and to my astonishment 70% (i aint joking) of people who patronise her are yorubas
these yorubas can name all ibo foods by mere looking at them but i have many ibo friends who would rather eat shit than eat amala or any food whatsoever prepared by a yoruba

what is wrong with our gbegiri, ewedu, ila(which is my favorite),eh,what is the ish wrong in our native dishes, why do they rush ibo foods(gosh i cant even stand the look of that shit, ewwwwwwww)

i bought egusi soup from a yoruba woman yesterday at ikorodu,lo and behold there was ugu(fluted pumpkin leaves) in the soup

ibos are busy taking over our lands and their foods are also taking over ours

yoruba e ronu oooooooo

Igbo's take their time to prepare their meals...And a lot of variety abound.

Any day any time, I can eat Egusi for one year without getting bored.

Op,I believe you live in the SW.Who do you think will patronise someone selling food the most in the SW?Ghanians?
Human nature makes people want to try something else apart from what they are used to.Is anything strange about that?

IBO food is sweet. No doubt. One of the many reasons Im considering an Ibo girl for marriage. Yorubas don't have so many types of food like that.

Family of five die after eating amala in Ondo state

Bolorunduro village in Ondo State was thrown into mourning last Wednesday when a family of five died after eating amala (yam flour).

The names of the deceased were given as Michael Onoja, 56; his wife, Comfort 42, Monday,24; Patience, 21; and the eight-year-old grandchild, Joy Odoh.

A police source told our correspondent that when Onoja returned from his farm on the fateful day, he instructed his daughter, Patience, to prepare amala for the family to eat.

The source said, “Some hours after the meal, Joy, who was spending the holidays with the family started complaining of stomach pain and shortly after, slumped. She died later at a nearby government hospital.”

It was learnt that the little girl was buried the following day.

The source said, “Few hours after Joy was buried, other members of the family started having stomach pains and were rushed to the hospital.

It was at the hospital that Onoja told his neighbours that the family ate amala, and that they had not eaten any other food after that. He and the family members died one after the other shortly after that.”

The source said the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary of the state Specialist Hospital, Akure while autopsy had yet to be conducted.

Meanwhile, Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Mr, Aremu Adeniran, said the police had commenced investigation into the incident.

He said, “The matter had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in order to ensure proper investigation.”

Igbo foods r v nutritious! Dis is evident in d physique of igbos...upto d extent dat u can tell an igbo man,by merely lookin at d size of his chest(and maybe head grin )An average igbo diet will comprise various vegetables n seeds. Evn d much touted akpu is an excellent product of fermentation,..building up useful intestinal flora in d guts. But 2 say igbos or oda tribes don't like yoruba food is not true. I personally love amala and gbegiri. I first came across amala n gbegiri during my service year in kano state abt a decade ago. Back of tesha ungwar ukwu park. I discovered dis yoruba woman's delicacy and dere was no goin bak.d orishi rishi wen dey decorate ds woman dish ehn na dye. And until I finished n left kano state I visited dere atleast once in a forthnyt. Since den I enjoy amala dish 4m time 2 time weneva I can lay my hands on it..
