Can't get into circular argument without facts with people who are blind to logic and basic reasoning.
How did Awo go from a Biafran prison in Calabar to his home Ikene and then to Ikoyi prison to take pictures with Gowon?
The Federal Government in Dodan Barracks Victoria Island Lagos State had announced his release from The Federal Government’s prison in Calabar.

You guys should stop deceiving your selves with this false story and read what Awolowo himself self said about his release on page one

Awolowo was released on August 3, Gowon was not head of State until 4th August. Gowon did not even have the power to release Awolowo the day Awolowo was released
Fake News
Gowon became President on the 1st of August 1966
Awolowo was released 3 days later on the 4th of August 1966
Why do you lie and lie and lie and end up with useless lies
Fear God Almighty
This is Gen Gowon's Gazette releasing Awolowo

Good.
You are making progress now. Who was head of state then? Ironsi.
Who was governor of the East then? Ojukwu, and Fajuyi was in the west.
A couple of days later, Ironsi and Fajuyi were killed by Gowon and Danjuma, Ojukwu protested.
Awo was released from Calabar prison where he had been held, then sent to Ikoyi prison.

People that don't know Nigerian history are busy talking nonsense online. When you follow the timeline, it was not possible for Gowon to have been the one who released Awolowo

Aguiyi-Ironsi was overthrown and killed on 29th of July, however, those who overthrew Ironsi were not initially after power, but revenge. For some days after Ironsi was Overthrown, there was no clear leader in Nigeria. Brigadier Ogundipe kept sending Gowon to negotiate with the coup leaders in Lagos, at one time, even Gowon was briefly detained by them. Ojukwu kept encouraging Brigadier Ogundipe to declare himself head of state while things were being sorted out. Not many people even knew that Ironsi was dead. However, Ogundipe ran away to London fearing for his life

The coup plotters actually wanted the Northern Region declared a seperate country. Their coup was called operation Araba(operation seperate). It wasn't until the British authorities informed the coup plotters that the North would suffer more than anyone else if they separated , that they now chose the option to takeover. So the Northern coup plotters chose Gowon, who at the time was the highest ranking Northerner in the Nigerian Army

All of these took some days. It was not until 4th of August 1966 that the perm secs swore Gowon in, Awolowo was released on the 3rd.

Awolowo was actually released before Gowon became head of State. So anyone thinking Gowon was the one who released Awolowo should go and do research on the timeline

Lt.col Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu the governor of the then East Central State of Nigeria, released Obafemi Awolowo from Calabar prison to go and declare Oduduwa republic during the start of Nigeria/ Biafra civil war in 1967. But,unfortunately, Awolowo did the opposite and sided the Nigeria government that imprisoned him. Awolowo bited the finger that fed him during famine season.

Childish question, lacking seriousness.
Historical events are objective, verifiable, and simple facts with little room for subjective manipulation.
For example, Nigeria got her independence on Oct 1st 1960- fact!
The first coup was 1966- fact!
2nd coup was s few months later - fact!
Calabar was in eastern Nigeria, and later Biafran city- fact!
Awolowo was held in Calabar- fact
Ojukwu was governor of eastern Nigeria, and later Buafran head of state- fact!

Go read up a small history and come back to join the discussion, you hear!

Ojukwu was hiding from the Northern Soldiers at the Police HQ in Enugu
He went into hiding the moment he heard Gen Ironsi and Col Fajuyi had been killed.
The British High Commission rep in Enugu spent the whole time searching up and down for Ojukwu who was nowhere to be found.

Didn't the same Ojukwu later flee to Ivory coast without ever being in the battle front?

Where is this Osu from sef huh
Awolowo was released by Gowon and it was well gazetted .

Was your useless beerfravd even declared by August 1966 ??
Your useless beerfravd was declared on September 30 1967 while Awolowo was released by Yakubu Gowon a year earlier in August 1966.

So according to you , Ojukwu already planned to declare beerfravd in 1966 ?? 😂😂
Can you see how stupid you sound ?
You should get proper books and stop depending on radio Biafra for history .

By the way, the cantankerous coward Ojukwu was hiding at the police HQ during the immediate aftermath of the counter coup .

It’s seems the dumbest set of Nigerians are domiciled in the Eastern part of Nigeria after all .

Interestingly, while Ojucrook was raping the prepubertal daughter of his friend, a Yoruba man with balls of steel was leading the only offensive of the only war fought by the coward Ibhoe in their history .

You people should maintain your lane lest we feed you your history here forcefully 😂😂

No need to change the topic from who released Awo to whether Ojukwu was hiding or not. He was military governor of Eastern Nigeria, fact, agreed?
Calabar prison was in eastern Nigeria, agreed?
The question is not whether the eastern Nigeria governor was hiding, running away, etc. The issue is whether a figure like Awo could have been released from an eastern Nigeria prison at that time of crisis without the help of the governor.

Calabar Prison was a Federal Prison
It was not Under Ojukwu's control
Ojukwu was in hiding because of the mutinous Northern Soldiers and didn't come out from hiding until Baba Lt Col Ogunewe negotiated an agreement with the Northern Soldiers and took control of Enugu Barrack

Awolowo was already in Lagos by then

The decision to release Awolowo had already been decided by Ironsi's Supreme Military Council, however, Ironsi was killed before he could implement it

So Ojukwu observed protocol, and released Awolowo when he learnt of Ironsi's death

But it is important to note that the release of Awolowo had nothing to do with Gowon.

Ironsi had already decided to release Awolowo, was killed before he could do so, Ojukwu implemented it
The lies igbos love telling themselves. You guys always have the impression that everybody has the kind of brain that would believe such nonsense as Jubrin el Sudani. Lolz.

Which means ojukwu tried the Igbo gaslighting on Awo (having the usual igbo mentality of thinking they're smart and want to use someone else as a shield to do their own thing). Awo, being intelligent, didn't buy his igbo bs. No wonder they so hate him.

It’s even a lie from the pits of hell.
The coward Ojukwu had nothing to do with Awolowo’s release from the prison .
Awo was released shortly after the counter coup and there was no discussion about Beerfravd at that time .
