Hon. Obinna Ichita, who represented Aba South State Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly from 2019 to 2023, has openly criticized Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe over alleged mismanagement of funds allocated for developmental projects in Abia South Senatorial Zone.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Hon. Ichita wrote, "Our people have identified 19 pointed questions for Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe. Big bro has been in the Senate for 17 years representing himself."

He further alleged that constituents are raising complaints about accountability regarding the funds allocated by the National Assembly for projects in the zone. Hon. Ichita added, "Even though we were instrumental in sending Sen. Abaribe back to the Senate in 2023, when ‘his own people’ rejected him, we will not suspend our intelligence and keep quiet in the face of such serious complaints."

Drawing inspiration from the late Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, Ichita declared, "It was the famous Fela Kuti who asserted that every ‘...complain must get answer’!"

The former lawmaker expressed confidence in the people's ability to demand transparency, stating, "It is quite simplistic for anyone to assume that one man can outsmart his people and all the people, all the time!"
