Lithiumite:Who is responsible for the currency devaluation and lack of capacity you alluded zombie? A government met dollar at 500 and now it's 1600, so whether it's directly of indirectly the government is still responsible and totally accountable. I hope you can see, you are the unintelligent and daft one here and not the person you quoted. |

It's obvious he was banking on the harvest season in the North... Even Niger State governor made the same promise, with same time frame Unfortunately, even me, I don't understand why price of foodstuffs refused to crash during the anticipated harvest season |

Soon and very soon propaganda government. 180 days from now is july 7. By then, some farm produce from farmers should be ready for harvest at least. The APC, as gimmick they are leverage on that as they did las year t to deceive the populace that they are working in term of food prices drop. He should have just said 230 days from now. ![]() |

Federal government would have mandated state government to start farming. They should use the grain they give to farmers, so they can monitor the progress. Or federal government would have brought a company to do farming for them across the States with safe security. If federal government have big farm in most states, they will be the ones to determine the amount food can be sold and can bring down the cost of food. Federal government does not have rice mill, cassava mill, corn mill. Nigeria government should take responsibility of farming and stop looking for farmers that doesn't exist in Nigeria. |

coleon:I understand your type and the way you reason. Ignorance is a bliss but I will get you educated. Federal Ministry of Agriculture just provides directions and policies for the State Ministry of Agriculture to align with., provides support for local farmers, provide grants and loan to the states, provides regulations and enforcement and engages with stakeholders. The actual implementation is done by the State Ministry of Agriculture. The Federal Ministry of Agriculture simply collaborates with the States who own the land. So, can you see how silly you are for calling your lineage ”daft”. When you were advised to take your schooling serious and you refused, it was to prevent this disgraceful contribution you just made in an open platform😄. Sit this discourse out, it is beyond you. |

Federal government should try another method this year, they should leave Nigeria farmers, they are looking for there pockets. DO they acciunt for what they give them? It has not worked, they should try another strategy to improve the lives of Nigerians. You cant be doing the same thing every year and get different results, they should try another method, they can invite Isreal or other countries that are good in farming. |

I love your insight but the Federal Government cannot change the Ministries mandate. Pressure needs to be mounted on the state governors to stop giving fertilisers and seedlings given to them free by the federal ministry of agriculture to non farmers, to protect the farm lands in their respective states instead of selling to real estates . Some individuals are saying Nigeria should be importing foods. Shame. Importing foods which will put pressure on naira against the dollars again. Country with over 250 million people can’t provide food for themselves but want to rely on other countries which have a robust plan for their own agriculture. Nigerians will learn. |

coleon:A dimwit like yourself should know what pushed the dollar up to 1,600....it's called devaluation and the naira has been loosing value since you were even born. Tinubu only stopped subsidising the dollar because it was costing the country so much.....and you then use it to go import useless things like wigs, champagne and whisky .....if any one wants dollar let them pay the real value. Rice is majorly imported as we aren't self sufficient despite it being our staple, this would be affected by the high dollar.....do you then expect tinubu to go farm rice for you so you stop importing when the FG has no land and all land belongs to the states..... accept my symphaties for having limited intellectual capacity to fathom logic. |

MT:I still don't get how someone will be proud of his ignorance and lack of logical reasoning like this. Even in your own submission, you have contradicted yourself. You mentioned federal ministry of agric set out policies, now if you the so called policy is not working as seen in the inflated food price all over the country , should we be blaming your teacher in school or the person that set out the not working policy. One thing is crystal clear since I started engaging zombies, it's impossible to support APC and still have your brain intact, they are mutually exclusive events that cannot match. |

MT:The federal minister of agriculture made the announcement not the states. Why are you holding states for promise made by a federal minister? Tell Tinubu to kuku shut down the ministry of agric instead of the livestock he added to it Last I checked it was Tinubu's policies of naira devaluation and subsidy removal that jacked up food prices so why calling states into the matter? |
| Re: 180 Days After Agric Minister’s Promise, Nigerians See No Drop In Food Prices by Ojuntana: 7:45am On Jan 09, 2025 |
MT:You wrote rubbish. There's nothing like this. Are you implying it is the state ministries that are to implement the duty free import of food the minister announced? The ministry of agric had its own agric programs such as ATASP, FADAMA farming etc and they have nothing to do with states. You're the ignorant yet bullish one here |
