A mental encounter or hallucination is not proof of the paranormal. Depending on one's emotional or psychological state, even the most seemingly healthiest of us all can experience a hallucination. To then declare that experience proof of existence of the non-physical amounts to leaping off and away from sanity towards insanity.

If only Nigerians were able to keep records, you would get a lot of that kind of gist from reading PrimePeople's magazine articles from back in the 90s. Those were better gist until crazy people started pouring the bulk of their most irrational delusions into it all.
