The change Nigerians voted for in 2023 was denied them by INEC.

Photos: Peter Obi visits Dele Farotimi, lauds his courage amid adversity

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi has paid a visit to Dele Farotimi at his Lagos residence.

In a post shared on X Thursday, Obi revealed that this was his first time meeting Farotimi since his release from the correctional facility in Ekiti state.

Obi hailed Farotimi, who had served as the spokesperson for his 2023 presidential campaign, as a symbol of courage.

“Yesterday, following my visit and meeting with President Obasanjo, I made time to visit my dear younger brother, Dele Farotimi,” Obi wrote.

“Since his return from the correctional center in Ekiti, I have not had the opportunity to meet with him.

“I was pleased to find him in good spirits and deeply encouraged by his unwavering dedication to the struggle for a better Nigeria.”

@DeleFarotimi exemplifies courage in the face of adversity, consistently taking bold stands for good governance in our nation. I wish him a fruitful and productive year as we continue to work together toward the development of our country.

Farotimi had been remanded by the Ekiti state magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti for 21 days over an alleged defamation case.

The police accused him of “criminally defaming” Afe Babalola, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), in his book titled Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System.

He regained his freedom on December 24, after being granted bail of N30 million by the court.

Farotimi had been arrested on December 3, 2024, at his office in Lagos before being taken to Ekiti.

Olaopa’s views on Babalola and Farotimi
During his detention, Obi visited Afe Babalola at his office in Ekiti state.

Obi would visit him when he's thrown into jail.

Delete Farotimi crossed the line by mentioning name of a legal icon Afe Babalola. Since Dele Farotimi has been practicing, how many cases has he won? All Nigeria and Nigerians want from him is a proof of the allegations. Else, he would be deleted like his name. You don't just wake up and tarnish the image and everything another person represents yet some said he shouldn't have been arrested.

Uncle Dele, keep enjoying the praise and attention from the igbo mob until the day you will say something different from what they want you to say and they will call you Yoruba tribalist.

Uncle Wole comes to mind. cool
The Igbo attacked Wole Soyinka, who went to prison fighting against the war on Biafra, and the Igbo were very disappointed and indicated that Nigerians are all just tribal.

Your messiah is a fraudulent thief.

The only things your people is good at is defending their criminal brothers and paint them as next to Holiness.

Nigerians can never be fooled to vote for Anambra failure.

Yeah, keep fooling yourself. I was born and raised in Lagos probably before you were born.

Lagos has stopped being the capital for how many years now? Calabar was also a former capital of Nigeria.
Jakande tried but the biggest improvements to Lagos came under Tinubu and subsequent govts, Govt is in a continuum hence every successive govt has added to the value of Lagos.
Some of the best developments plans in Lagos today were conceived under Tinubu, Lawman, Lasman, Train system, Eko Atlantic ( this was used to stop the erosion from the Sea that was close to swallowing the whole of VI). Most of you kids have no idea what was going on in Lagos before Tinubu.

Lagos is no longer the capital, pls move to Abuja, we don't need all the crowd in Lagos. We need some fresh air.

Igbos are not pretenders or people that love to seat on the fence, waiting for who it favours before throwing their support....

That's why they praise you when you do the right thing and scold you when you do the wrong thing....

Can you see the problem they havehuh? Their problem is for a solution while your problem is to create more hatred, wars etc among brothers ....

Labour Party that has become so disorganized, in total disarray, total disorder speaks for itself that Dele is telling a BIG FAT LIE.

Mean while Afe Babalola haba Dele is your Obidient brother nah. Take it easy on him oh!
Given the choices available for the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria,
every brilliant Nigerian would want Peter Obi as president of Nigeria. It never mattered the political party Obi belonged then.
It's only those who wanted Nigeria to remain in the dark who wanted otherwise.

Because there are places in Lagos State that the timid Ekiti or Osun State outclassed in all ramifications......

Meanwhile, Let each Governor of Lagos show what he did, don't tell us Lagos is how it is today because the development started from TINUBU.....

TINUBU tried in Lagos State, just as Jakinde did, Fashola, Ambode etc ....

Is too cheap to play this kind of Politics....meanwhile How is TPAin dealing with you todayhuh

And the same time, you know TINUBU did Alot in Lagos State as a Governor ....

How where you able to cope working as Personal Assistant to these two past Governorshuh?

I'm from Epe Lagos State and you people are also moving into my town daily. So what's your point? The whole of my state is not safe from all of your running from your land to Lagos State and the rest of SW. The same thing is happening Ibadan, Abeokuta, Ondo, and many more. So keep those false narratives to the gullible. When in Nigeria, I travel everywhere hence I know what's going on.
Ambode is someone that I know personally, most people in Epe never even heard of him until Tinubu and co decided to give him a chance.
What's important is that Tinubu has consistently found and placed smart intelligent hands at the helms of affairs of Lagos. As long as he has the ability to find and plug in smart intelligent leadership with the support of others, then I'm ok with it. Especially when compared to what is available in the rest of Nigeria. It's not rocket science.
That's what leadership is all about.

Whatever pain is dealing with you is your problem. I don't have any pain.....
