The US Marines are staged around the world, such that they can reach anywhere within six hours. The US can expend the same energy into ensuring that the dedicated wildfire service can reach any wildfire in the US within 30 minutes and one hour.

But will they do that? Of course not. But they will rather spend that money on war and bringing disasters upon others rather than securing their own people.
