Brilliant007:That's the problem, there is no honesty in Nigerian market for fairly used Nigerian cars, they must hide the car's problem from the potential buyer like it is normal to do so. In a decent society with correct moral compass, they would tell the potential buyers the problems such cars are having and give the prices accordingly. It will then up to the buyers to decide if they want go for it if they think they have a good bargain and can fix the problems. But in Nigeria, a faulty car that should go for 1.5 million naira would be presented as faultless car or a car with minor faults with 3 million naira last price. Greedy bastardss and dishonest people everywhere |

Moneyboyz:What did you do after finding out? You should have taken it back with the involvement of police and court threat since they intentionally hid all these major problems from you and presented the car as faultless |

gtassure:It wasn't funny but I noticed much savings when I changed to a muscle Camry then. This was around 2012 tho. Maybe the car had silent issues I was unaware of. |

Babatundehy:Personally, I think you are trivialising this issue of sellers of Nigerian used cars by saying that foreign used cars (and their sellers) are in the same category. May be you have forgotten that many Nigerians don't even know what new cars/vehicles look like. Tokunbo is our common new motors in Nigeria because they the closest to new motors that majority of Nigerians could afford. The difference between the two is like difference between the ground and the space. Less than 10% of tokunbos in Nigeria could have hidden issues while over 90% of Nigerian used could have hidden issues. What are you even saying? No be foreign used cars later becomes Nigerian used cars? ![]() |

I am just laughing ..inasmuch as I feel your frustration ..but that should be a yardstick for generalisation. We will continue to serve our client and by God's grace we are still getting our reward . A nairalander contacted me to I spect a car he saw somewhere . We booked uber and when we got there very early I stared the car and the engine sounds like it was manufactured today ...I didn't look back than to proceed to the next stage of due diligence ...we bought the car and on our way back home the ac wasn't cooling well . The next day I introduced him to my ac man and everything was fixed perfectly...a few days later I introduced him to my mechanic and he went to his house to service the car with quality oil . Right now the nairalander sends me money like water .sometimes he will say just use this money to buy pepper soup...I will thank him and appreciate him for being kind . There are many good people here ..I.have personally met many good dealers here . One thing I have learnt from some buyers is that they hate truth . They always say my cars are expensive ...in trying to get cheaper ones they run into problem ...they learn the hard way. In summary...there are so many good dealers here .There are equally some dis honest ones Low budget car can only attract bad cars for you . |

Aaaaarghmed:Some Nigerians are actually wicked and greedy. After misusing the car for donkey years they seek for a maga to offload the nonsense on. They don't even put in effort on make the car at least reliable for the next owner. Some people are truly demonic and wicked. |

Fujiyama:It's life, it happens, the world will move on. Same way also, I was to sell off a car worth 78m to a grandpa for his 80th birthday, in the day the daughter was to make payment the man died a week to his birthday. Business is embedded with a lot of life lessons, one has to have a big heart to stay afloat. Life and death happens to every living thing, one can never be prepared enough for it. |
