Anambra Kidnapping Scourge - Dealing With The Hydra by EmekaStanley(op): 8:53pm On Jan 11, 2025
I saw the statistics of the amount of ransom paid to kidnappers in Anambra, almost half a billion naira.

In all honesty, I wasn't surprised because Anambra is unarguably the state that has the highest number of incredibly wealthy people in the whole of the eastern region. So it is quite easy for urchins to look their way.

But then, Anambra seems to have always been that way.

But Peter Obi handled it perfectly; he was very ruthless to those men of the underworld.

He executed this ruthlessness with one police officer like that who headed SARS in Anambra during his reign as governor.

There could have been some mistakes here and there with regards to innocent people being caught in that web, but there was some level of sanity in Anambra.

Anambra needs a reasonable level of ruthlessness against crime if that state must be sane.

One of the responsibilities of a leader is security of lives and property, and in carrying out this duty, some people have to go down.

It was so sad to see people from Anambra who couldn't go to their village this holiday because of kidnappers.

In fact, one woman told me the kidnappers came to their house and picked up her husband without fear.

This just has to stop, there has to be an end.

One sure way to stop it, be ruthless to enemies of the state, be very ruthless to kidnappers.

Get them, and take them away from the society.

When Nugerians try to push propaganda, they don't care what happens.
This person just described innocent people, people's family, friends, brothers, fathers, cousins, in-law as collateral damage because his/her politician of choice couldn't find a better way to deal with criminality.

"Some people have to go down" is been used to describe the loss of innocent lives, extra-judicial killings by police and the likes.

Well done

No you are wrong.

'Some people' used here are the criminals, that should go down.

Don't be too presumptuous

Your idea of criminals going down is their bodies floating on the river right without trial or given a chance to prove they are innocent.

Well done

If the law enforcement agents are on their toes, face off with criminals should be without mercy, just like what happened in Lagos at Ladipo.

There's no point sugar coating critical issues like kidnapping
