Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has boldly responded to rumors that the APC is plotting to rig the Kano elections in 2027 by vowing to withstand any assault on his authority.

Speaking yesterday at Coronation Hall's monthly women's empowerment program, the governor made it clear that he is not concerned about the 2027 elections because the Almighty Allah has appointed him to be a leader.

Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor's spokesperson, made this announcement in a statement.

"Reelection is not the issue I am concerned about. Delivering the benefits of democracy on the mandate I was given during my first term is what I am more focused on. At the conclusion of my term, I want the wonderful people of Kano to evaluate me based on my performance," the governor declared.

The governor bemoaned the efforts of Kano's adversaries to sow political discord in the state by posing as opposition members.

"We are aware of those who experienced severe rejection in both 2019 and 2023. We defeated them while we didn't even have a council seat or any other political position. However, we won by a landslide thanks to Allah," he continued.

Governor Yusuf also warned the APC leadership in Kano not to use hate speech and provocative words that could frighten people who are eager to exercise their civic rights.

My destiny is to become a governor. I firmly believe that I shall serve a second term if Allah so desires, and I submit to His decision. I won't if not. Therefore, why should I trouble myself?" the Governor inquired.

As you may remember, the ruling NNPP handed the APC a crushing loss in the 2023 elections, causing them to lose 18 of the 26 House of Representatives seats, 26 of the 40 State Assembly seats, two senatorial seats, and the governorship.

Besides, apart from the bridges (Kudos to him for this) and 1 hospital he built ,plus 1 or two roads. Ganduje was a disaster in every other thing. I myself know of a road that the contract was given twice in that his 8 years running into billions, and his cronies clean mouth.
A teacher I know told me that had APC won Kano in 2023, that education would have gone back 20 years in Kano. Teachers and education were collecting woto woto during his time for someone that has a PhD oh. People knew why they voted Abba. Forget social media guy.

Someone that clearly lost in 2019 but had to get federal backing to win the 2nd round. See that 2019, they were people that were looking at their polling units but couldn't dare vote especially in NNPP strongholds. Go and ask people of Gama ward. Police, Dss and thugs intimidated opposition. Grassroots politician that couldn't win House of Rep seat for his Son, losing his own Dawakin tofa local government. Strip him of federal backing & support and he can't do anything. Buhari had his back, now Tinubu that's why he is doing anyhow. Ganduje just has supporters because they can't stand Kwankwaso.
