First be contented but at the same time have a plan to double your income, go beyond being uncomfortable to planning to earn more, start with saving at least 30% of your earning, invest part of the money in learning high income skills like digital marketing, copywriting and some other few. If possible create your own digital products and create a loop of selling them to grow your income. in case you need more explanation chat me up on 08089456258

Just cut ur expense....500k is not small money in naija ....just that our leaders are heartless making some expense too high

No generator every night ...u won't die

If u have kids....DStv subscriptions should be during holidays....they wont die.....

If u have a car that u use daily to work that gulps like 10litres per day ....that's roughly 10-11k per day and 220k per month minus Saturday and Sunday outing and servicing cost....Use public transport ..u won't die...

Buy satchet water instead of bottle...or check if ur tap water is drinkable...a friend told me he started taking his tap water when he calculated and found his cost on water was 80k month...
U too get wisdom
Let add
If he's eating outside, he should start to cook. When I saw my expenses. I started cooking and swore not to go to eatery this year. I have been strict with it.

Whenever I remember that I only earn 35k monthly as a private sch teacher and the first Born of my family without parents, I feel like I'm a waste. Each time I want to pay my landlord his rent and I take out over 100k to pay, I instantly notice I am enslaving myself.
Nobody will perfectly understand how I feel.
Tutorial is an online teaching platform. Application is free. Choose the online teaching than physical presence. That would cut back on your transport and grooming costs.

Even if you have 2 kids and a wife and you earn 650k in this economy. If you can not save a minimum of 2m in one year. Then, there's something wrong somewhere! You need to sit down and really search yourself.

The state of things in Nigeria nowadays is enough to learn how to manage resources.

One guy up there already said it all. If you have kids, recharge DStv only on holidays. You see this family outing stuff, make it only once a month and minimize your spending on such occasions.

If you have a car and you work on the island for instance, park your car and take public transport (if staff bus is not available).

Stock your home with foodstuffs monthly and eat from home, at least your dinner (That's if your wife can not prepare your food before you leave home in the morning), that reduces your food expenses.

Your rent must be something you can afford, and not something to show off. With 650k monthly, I don't expect you to live in a house which rent is more than 400k annually (that is if you don't want to forever make money for your landlord. Remember he will always come at about three year interval for rent increase!

Be wise guy, this is Lagos!!!

Peace!

Many of you just enjoy lying or showing off on this forum... And I can bet Op is either.

As at today, only few people can truly boast of such an income in this country.

Most families have combined incomes of less than 500k monthly, yet you don't see them asking such online or offline. They are well adjusted and even thriving.

Let me just conclude with this... If a quarter of working and hustling Nigerians earned that kind of money, I sincerely doubt we would have much negative noise in Naija.
lol lol lol lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Nah wah ooo . People earn more and still struggling. Things are expensive with that his salary he can't save to buy a good Toyota car in years.

500- 700k is. It small money. Most people have given you advise on what to do and I know that if you adhere to then you'll be ok.
It also depends on where you live, how much is your house rent or whether you Iive in your own apartment.
Africans generally don't like to live a simple lifestyle. We want to party, drink and eat barbecue always. We want to show our women we have money thus making them lazy.
Just be honest with yourself and live simple shikenan

Cut down on your expenses.

Forget about having a girlfriend....they will help you waste your money if they know you earn as much.

Stop betting if you do that.

You can send some money to your dependants but do not strain yourself.

Stop patronizing beer palour with friends.
This way you can live on your wages and still save some money for the raining day.

Earn more what sir? How many people?!!

How many working Nigerians out of the employed and self-employed 50 - 80 Million earn up to 200k a month, not to speak of more than half a million?

You guys simply and clearly don't understand the reality of your nation's situation, and it's saddening.

Take a look at the teaching profession for instance, how many senior tutors, even Principal level earn up to 500k per month?!!

Even in the Health care sector, how many health care professionals earn up to that in a month?!!

Any young person privileged to be earning as high as what the Op mentioned above is not poor!

That's what senior professionals across sectors can only dream of after decades of working.

Period!!!
Re: Is ₦650k Monthly Income Not Considered A Good Income? by epainos: 5:57am On Jan 12, 2025
600k ($350) is small in a country with a comfortable standard of living for the majority of its citizens, but the standards in Nigeria today are extremely high and extremely low because there is no middle ground. As a result, with $350, OP is a king among the poor, but a nobody among the wealthy.

The good news is that with just $350, you can have peace of mind if you don't have responsibilities like having too many kids to take care of. Even with an understanding wife who also works and a maximum of two children, I have thoroughly tested the possibility of finding peace. Use your peace of mind to begin learning skills that will propel you into Nigeria's upper income bracket. You can use the extra money to buy data and sit at your computer to develop disruptive innovative skills. In like 2 years, you will sing a new song.

However, if you sit down with that earning capacity and continue doing what you are doing in order to earn that amount, poverty will play pin-point on your head. Poverty is extremely near you if you don't know.

Good luck!

Delusional thread. Comments are so disconnected from the reality in Nigeria that you begin to wonder if these ones are living in an alternate universe.

In saner climes, if you're earning above minimum wage, you're considered relatively comfortable. Here in Nigeria, how much is the old minimum wage? How much is the new one Tinubu has refused to pay? Are they anywhere close to the amount the op quoted? .
You don’t mean that, do you huh

How can a progressive politician of integrity and an ọmọlúwàbí fail to pay the minimum wage several months after he assented the Bill?

I find it hard to believe.

I can authoritatively tell you that more than 70% of hard working and hustling Nigerians have never earned up to half a million in their lives...!

Like NEVER!

Many have never managed to save up to that amount in their earthly existence.

This is just the problem with social media today... Young people coming online to paint unrealistic financial pictures for others to get perturbed over.

How can a young person earning 700k claim that it's insufficient to live a good life?!!
Like what the fvck does that even mean?!!

Has the term good life changed meanings?!! Haba!!!

No wonder there is so much insecurity and desperation for wealth... Such nonsense like the topic above create these greedy and desperate menace to society.

Nonsense thread. How dare you complain earning 650k upward? Most Nigerians, infact not less than 60% workers are earning less than 200k. Your minimum wage is just 70k that many states haven't accepted to pay. Most private school teachers earn less than 70k.
