He Received 250,000 Wrongly Into His Account And This Happened by MasterJayJay(op): 7:02am On Jan 12, 2025
Someone is owing several loan apps. He abandoned the bank account linked to the loan apps.

He got a credit alert of 250,000 naira. Within 1 hour, he got several debit alerts too. When he checked properly, all the money was gone. The loan apps have automatically deducted their money.

Two days later, he got a call from someone that a transfer of 250k was wrongly sent to his account. The caller pleaded with him to send back the money. He told the caller that the money no longer exists because loan apps have collected them.

The caller started threatening him and warned him that he will be arrested if he doesn't return the money within 3 days.

How will this issue be resolved?

Note: This particular story is fiction.

The issue will be resolved by him providing the 250K. It’s small money. All he needs is time. If he’s arrested, the sum plus more will materialize in a bid to secure his freedom.

If he had 250k, he won't be owing.

Small money? How much government dey pay as minimum wage?

Why will he be arrested when bank statement clearly shows it was automatically deducted by loan companies?

Somebody has to pay the money back. If he gets arrested — which he should if he chooses not to pay — the cash will be pooled in less than three days. I’ve seen such happen many times.

The threat is empty. The creditor has nothing against the receiver. The receiver did not in any way ask the sender for the money. Also, the receiver can easily prove that loan companies took the money. The only crime of the receiver is that he or she defaulted in paying the loan.
