It's advanced enough to learn the needed skills. My nephew graduated with a degree in industrial chemistry. He's now a full stack software engineer at Etisalat. He learnt everything online. YouTube, Udemy, Alison etc.

However, you can't become a certified doctor by learning online. You can't learn how to make a vehicle or hard ware computers online. You have to be physically present to learn these skills that's why I specifically mentioned Medical sciences and advanced engineering.

It’s a matter of time and this tech may allow us achieve some of this gap. For the time being. Physcial interface is the only solution now

But I have a problem with FG regarding NOUN, it seems the federal government isn't doing enough for this school that has been around since early 2000, the largest university in Nigeria in terms of students enrollment, the government is only interested in making money from the students instead of making the school stand out and more attractive.

With the right facilities and infrastructure in place, NOUN students will compete well with their foreign counterparts

What exactly does it take to address all the issues in this great school that government cannot do?

Distance learning only in art and commercial courses. May be throw in some intermediate computer courses in there.

No way you learn medical science or advanced computer engineering from a distance.

Not true. It depends on the standard & quality control measures put in place. I have been an advocate of distance learning most especially for the postgraduates programmes. Take the example of employees in the industries who have worked for years and have built their practical knowledge & skills far better than most of the lecturers in our higher institutions, and you tell them to come for full or part-time on-campus post-graduate programs. It's can be deployed via distance learning & goal achieved 100%. We have to wake up from our slumber and embrace smarter and more intelligent ways of doing things.

Many like you, who assumed earning a degree at NOUN would be easy ended up dropping out after just two semesters. No conventional university in Nigeria can match NOUN when it comes to academic discipline. This is the only institution where students cannot manipulate the system to obtain grades. There's no way for students to obtain unmerited grades.
I firmly believe that NOUN graduates with a 2.1 are academically stronger to first-class graduates from other universities.
