Oh okay. I chose Abuja even though I wanted Lagos, but then I have to defer to fall.. do you think I can still reschedule later to Lagos?
You have 2 more reschedule slot on your profile, I believe you can.
Anyways am considering deferring my admission to fall also if if the emergency appointment isn’t approved and then reschedule to Abuja for my interview

Okay thanks boss.
I tried calling them to confirm that email part but they said they are on holiday so no customer agent to attend to the call. Hopefully we scale through by God's grace

Good every, I have gone through this thread and I say a big thank you to you and all the contributors.
I was offered admission to study Master of Theological Studies at Boston University with 100% tuition scholarship. Resumption time is fall 2025. On requesting for I-20 I was told I need to prepare COA of about 30,000$.
I don't have a family relation that can stand as sponsor. What advice can you give please.
I am 40+ and I wish to go with my wife as dependant no children yet.
What will you advice I do? What are my chances of getting visa approval.

Your concerns are legit and of course, understandable. Unfortunately, just as you can't do anything about a denial, in this situation, I don't know of any other solution. Perhaps someone else might suggest something different but that's as far as I know.

Good luck.
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by awesomeb1783(m): 1:19am On Jan 11, 2025
Thank you for your response. I will explore these options
NanaOLOMU:
Happy New Year !

If you had secured 100% funding i wonder why your COA should be amounted to $30,000, but let us put that aside.

Since you are going for a Theological study , i will recommend you approach your church/pastor and beg the appropriate authority to stand for you and provide the bank statement in the stated amount. If that is not feasible you can approach a private institution who can stand for you . The truth is that your Form I 20 would not be issued without the financial verification of the $30,000 deficit.

You can go with your wife, it is permissible and expected of you as a Young mission scholar, but it is better you relate your academic journey with a well known growing church .

Good Luck.

Note = The $30,000 is likely going to be for your wife 's F2 coverage or whatever.

Hello guys, i'm trying to apply for masters in human computer interaction in the US for falls, I've seen some schools that offer it i.e University of Washinton and Carnegie Mellon University but they don't have direct funding, is there any advice you can give on where I can apply for scholarship. I'm a graduate of Applied Physics Electronics with a 2:1
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Anonunicorn123: 11:55pm On Jan 11, 2025
Hi @everyone quick question please. While trying to schedule an appointment for my f1 renewal, it redirected me to the regular consular interview date page instead of the Interview waiver page. I'm not sure why. Has anyone experienced this please and how did you resolve this?

Also under annotation, what is the correct option to select, I picked empty but was later informed I was supposed to select SEVIS but that wasn't an option.

I look forward to anyone's reply, thanks!!

NanaOLOMU:
Hello.

You don't have to apply to many schools for PhD (in order to be focused) except if you have not gotten in contact with a positive supervisor. Any University which gives PhD admissions to International applicants must be a research based institution, therefore, all the 4 schools you have applied to are good enough. I have not contacted any supervisor in those schools I applied to . It is not stated on the website to secure supervisor before admission can be given . Do you think I should start contacting supervisors from those schools , even though I have submitted application? Thank you

No matter how High the acceptance rate of any Research based University, such school won't bend her admission criteria for any PhD applicant, hence dont look for high acceptance rate, look the school that will accept your over all qualifications and also focus on supervisor with passion for your work. You can also Google search schools independently.

Good Luck.
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Godsknight(m): 11:29pm On Jan 12, 2025
NanaOLOMU:
Hello.

If your PhD is not a research based, well its not really necessary to contact a future supervisor. In that case you may wait on the admission decision and keep applying to schools .

But it's advisable to contact prospective PhD academic supervisor (s) in your department many months even before your application date. This will give you time to get to know your future advisor and explore prospective research ideas.

It will also give your advisor time to decide whether they have room for a new student in their research group. Your supervisor (professor) determines if they need you in their department or if there is available funds for you (Research Based PhD Student ).

Good Luck.
The program is five years . Two years for course work , the remaining three years for thesis writing . Thank you

I believe the coa is for your f2 dependent. I believe you can cover for that since you are 100% funded. Boston is a beautiful city but it kinda expensive. I hope you get your visa with your f2 and join us over in Boston. Wishing u all d best

Good morning all

I filled my ds160 for Lagos and on scheduling my appointment there is no available dates in Lagos then I scheduled in Abuja for the interview, do I open and fill a new ds160 for Abuja?
Mind you, the appointment confirmation letter carries the number of the ds160 I filled with Lagos, do I go ahead and open a new ds160 for Abuja and hope there won’t be complications when I get to the embassy or is there a way I can change that of Lagos to Abuja in AVITS huh

Please I need clarity 🙏

Just filled another.
Go with the two.

When you are on queue for documents verification bring it to the notice of the workers there.

pls nte: they’ve two queue lines.
first is for security
second queue they will ask you to bring out your documents especially ds-160 then you can ask the officer which ds-160 can u submit to them.
