Is it today that kingmakers had been collecting bribe. Can you prove they took bribe? I don't see that as bribe but lobbying. It's everywhere.

Can Seyi Makinde swear he didn't lobby INEC? So, it's not new and that doesn't mean he should shut out kingmakers in the selection process. The kingmakers are the one to select and forward name to the Gov.

What a responsible Gov should do is to lobby the kingmakers for his candidate if he has one in mind.

Start your analysis from that point. You have a traditional seat in a community, many will vote to maintain it because it is culture. So it should not matter where their salaries come from because it comes from US, our taxes, NOT the governor.

I feel disappointed in him with the way he handled Alaafin matter. He went against the nomination of the 5 kingmakers family decision and imposed his candidate without consulting them.

All traditional rituals follows immediately. Come to aafin ( palace) in Oyo and see for yourself the preparation going on. The palace traditionalist were on holiday and mourning mode since the demise of oba lamidi Adeyemo but immediately the new Aaafin was announced they received spiritual clearance and fortification to commence activities to usher in the new Aaafin. The work of Oyomesi ( kingmakers) ended after the announcement. You don't rule out vested interest but the governor acted in fairness to the choice ifa made to protect the Alaafin throne from extremist fulani invaders from sokoto. The whole city is in Joyous mood except muric and their sokoto/ ilorin sponsors.
