Who said it was meant to feed 200 million people?

Do you have any sense at all, this boy?

You clearly know NOTHING about how markets work.

It’s not about “feeding a state”.

The 300k bags introduced to the Nigerian market at cheaper than current prices represents a disruption of the market by a ‘new entrant’, which can lead rival producers to lower their prices as well, generating a price war headed downwards, that favours buyers.

That’s the thinking behind the move. It’s a strategic move that should lead to falling prices for rice.

In that press meeting Tinubu had last month he said he would end inflation by flooding the market with goods, so this is it.
This is the type of competition Dangote faced when he tried to fleece Nigerians. It brought him down to earth.

FG focus on exchange rate ooo
That's where the Koko is

I did not say focus on Fx rate

I actually meant focus on the underlying sociopolitical economic fundamental factors
You will be fine
It's good that you made that clarification before they jump on you like bees.

300k bags to feed over 200 million people? These people are jokers! Only 50 million bags of rice can crash the price of rice in Nigeria. 300k bags cannot even feed a state for two weeks.
even if they give us 300 grains, it is still a plus. No be dem born us.

How did dangote fleece Nigerians again? I have always guessed your motives correctly and this only solidifies my profile about you. Dangote never fleeced anyone. If anything, it is the state managed companies that are fleecing us. Dangote only filled a gap you guys claimed is technically impossible to fill for decades.

NIGERIA is a land of oppression.
People are too wicked and end up throwing the blame on government.
If not for wickedness, why will locally produced rice sell for 100,000 naira and above.
Most NIGERIANS are worst than the politicians.
Keep taking advantage of the system to oppress yourselves.
after the first harvest in november paddy rice reached 22,000 briefly before artificially bouncing back towards the old rate. Big wigs have raided the farms, but are waiting for the FG and smaller guys to exhaust most of their stock.

It will take more than this to crash the price.

I wonder why Fg can not invite rice producing countries like Thailand, Brazil etc to come in, and then guarantee them of security. Allow them to produce rice in a very large quantity, the idea will be to Sell rice to Africa countries right from Nigeria. At the end rice will not only be cheap in the country, but give strong vigor to the economy.
You will also bring Brazil to wipe you nyash.

Useless people.

The FG is struggling to empower Nigerians, not Brazilians or Thailand people.
