I got the idea to create this topic partly from quora and partly from the the ongoing discussion about a Catholic priest removing his cassock and chasuble for life.
The answer to this question are carried. Most people on quora went for Paul of Tarsus and some also said Jesus... BUT the answer that stroke me was someone who said Martin Luther king.
I think in a way it is correct prior to that time, what was in existence was the Catholic Church, with four important prelates.. Alexandria,Antioch, Constantinople and Rome. Jerusalem had a bishop that was sometimes seen as the fifth.(Much the same way the Miami masters is seen as the fifth Grand slam).
So who really created Christianity?
To answer that we have to go through the ages, probably to Alexandria (in Egypt) where serapis and isis was worshipped. This pair will later become our Jesus and Mary at the council of Ephesius and calcedon. The worship of serapis and isis(is CHREST) spread to all part of the empire and to Rome. Rome at this time was mainly Mithraism. There was no mention of a wonder worker in Israel.
When Constantine came to scene, he wanted a single religion for his empire and surmoned all the religious leaders to Nicea to choose between Mithraism and chrestianity as the religion of the empire. They voted to go with chrestianity because they had more Greeks than Romans..
The rest is history.
So who created Christianity? My answer..the Roman empire.

Considering the context of the new testament. Jesus was born by a Jewish mother and fostered by a Jewish father(we know God don't do magic) , he followed the Jewish laws and custom all his life before he was executed for treason by the Romans. He was said to have told those who came to him "to keep the laws" and as one of the items on the sermon on the mount, he said "He has not come to destroy the law and the prophet, but to fulfil them. That is show us that it can be done....
The early Gospels saw Jesus as a man, who was anointed by God on his baptism....it is the later ones like John. Where the christology really takes shape...
Well, the Jews don't have any tradition about Jesus. He just does not feature anywhere. So if they don't care. I don't see any reason to care too
So according to the gospels stories..Jesus was born,grew up, lived and died a jew.

Why did a Nigerian not establish another Ifa or Ogun religion during the European colonisation of Nigeria. Same thing with the Jews at that time the Romans were colonising the Jews at that time and part of the colonisation was to invent a gentle Jesus messiah to calm down the Jewish religious revolts against the Roman occupation with their pagan idol they placed in the Jewish Holly Temple in Jerusalem.

"Whoever endure to the end will be saved" Matthew 24:13

The first Century Christians were hunted and killed by the Roman empire. The Romans continued to persecute Christians up to AD 313.
Just read a book and you will stop preaching these falsehoods.

In AD 70 when the Roman empire destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem and conquered the Jews there were no Christians Jerusalem there was only Judaism and the Romans took many Jews away to Rome as slaves.
