So September last year 2024 he got an apartment and moved in. The place was lovely and bubbling until one night he heard knocks on the door.


He thought it was armed robbers, but it was police. They packed guys in the building, (3 storey building) to police station.


After all done and said, the issue is about an empty plot of land besides thier building.


The man that bought the land about a year ago has been harassing occupants of the lodge because they dump refuse on his land.


Now to be honest not everyone does that, but with instead of them to fish out who's guilty and make him pay, they pack all of them.


He has barely stayed 3 months there in his new apartment.


Just yesterday when he came back from Christmas travels he was told that police came again and packed few guys that were around because of same thing.


What's your suggestions please.

Exactly this happened to me last 3 years,d owner of the land packed everyone to security,we eventually paid 8k.
We have to go there and clean everything to the last,he later brought security again,they told the man to go and sit down,no refuse was left.
We also told the man to go to court if he's not satisfied, that's how it ended. Though I have packed out last year to a new place

Imagine wickedness. This one still has long time before rent expires. The issue is that once police is involved you must spend, and they might still lock you up. I think that's what he's trying to avoid.

If it would be easy. No one stands 24/7 in the land monitoring it.

Some people might sneak out when no one is watching to dump refuse there.

Besides apart from the lodge being big with many tenants, there are numerous other lodges closby so they too might be dumping refuse there.


Why won't he put CCTV camera on the land to grab the people red handed.


Why pack the whole lodge for crime of one or two. It's unfair.

This is what happens in areas with no proper waste disposal system. Any available unused plot of land becomes waste dumping ground.
It's almost impossible to fish out the actual culprits in such a crowded apartment complex. What the tenants should do is to press the landlord for a convenient waste disposal system. This is why I'm not in support of banning of abokis that collect wastes in wheelbarrows. There are some areas the trucks don't reach but the barrows do, how are the people there supposed to dispose their garbage if the barrows are banned?

Where is the landlord of the building in all this?

You guys should contribute and get a dual view standalone solar powered CCTV. It should be installed in such a way that a camera view will be covering the concerned area.

That way it will be easy to track the person dumping refuse.

If a piece of land is left undeveloped, covered with forest, and becoming a breeding ground for mosquitoes and snakes, can tenants in neighboring apartments sue the landowner or arrest him for neglecting the property?

It’s wrong for who ever is dumping refuse there to do so and it’s also very wrong for the police to just come and pack everyone without evidence

The owner of the land has a duty to develop and protect his property from becoming environment challenge

Since this night na court case, we just settled land case up there, now OP should sue the man oppressing them for ordinary dustbin.

Nigerians can fear court like hell.. even police go wash hamd from the matter..

Go get a lawyer and sue the werey... How can someone lock u up for nothing and you dey hia dey type?
