I see many senseless comments here. Many expect Tinubu to fix power by now already but couldn't question Dangote refinery that took more than 10 years to build. Is it usually as fast as that ni?

I still maintain it. How Obasanjo spent $16b between 1999 and 2007 on power and situations remain like this baffle me. Its someone who has spend less than 2 years they are calling for his head. Is that no it senseless?
This is because nobody can investigate or jail an ex president...All the corruption that happened under the previous administration, how many people has been investigated aside Emefiele? Other has been let off the hook..Why has Tinubu not audit the NNPCL account?

We need to tell ourselves the truth in this country because propaganda will not take us anywhere.

Fashola told us that it requires only 6 months to fix the power problem in Nigeria.

Are you saying that Fashola lied or that this Tinubu government is incompetent?
That's just simply propaganda okay

Minister Kola Adelabu, you can do better than this.
If your president not ready to do the needful, upon the so called "repeated request ", hold a press conference, address the populace and quit the job.
That reminds me of a wonderful man,Prof. Nnaji.
I doff my cap for him.

Fashola is not an engineer. This is a sector I work with. It can’t take even 1 year. The fastest way like i said is to make states stay independent from the national grid if they can’t upgrade the national grid to accommodate the 25k megawatts our power plants can generate
Re: National Grid Old, Dilapidated – Power Minister, Adebayo Adelabu by Babangidapikin: 10:05am On Jan 14, 2025
smiley What happened to the State Police noise ...Anyway the Government can allow us set up Independent Military Company, so we can help flush out this terrorist ..When they don't know how many fronts they are fighting with, they will give up. If the Grid are old, allow Private Nigeria Investors come in, but you must remove subsidy , so they can receive there rents immediately when power is transmitted.

Excuses upon excuses. And yet, huge funds are going into that ministry.

We know it's old. What are you doing or willing to do to improve the infrastructure and service?

So which means he didn't lie but incompetent and the present government is also incompetent because they have been in power for more than a year?

They are just playing politics with Nigerians. They know what to do but they are not ready to do it because they are just there to embezzle funds. Goodluck when in power already started the upgrade of the national grid but President bubu stopped the work. The first thing that must be done for steady power supply is to upgrade the national grid, secondly states in east, south and west can be independent from national grid because most gas power turbines are situated in these regions because of gas lines available.

Decentralisation makes sense. The only thing I forsee is that it removes power from the centre. How can the FG wield absolute power in determining the fate of any region if such power is stripped from the centre?

Sorry I am not conversant with the workings of the power station. Hence the following questions: at the moment are there grids in each zones that can supply the zones? How exactly are the power infrastructures spread at the moment?

The existing ones with a state that has a power plant can be isolated and there are substations to distribute power as well. For instance aedc ie Abuja has a substation likewise other states, so when a state generates, all the need to do is feed the substation for distribution.

We have power infrastructure all over Nigeria but for those using gas, they are all in the south eg aba, portharcourt, delta , ogun state and Lagos state. The only one in the north is in Kogi. They remaining in the north are hydro (water)powered (dams)

Thanks for the explanation. So if I understand you correctly at the moment there are zones that can fulfill their electricity need without depending on the national grid. If that is correct then your idea made a lot of sense. Those that can supply their needs should do so whatever is left can be fed into the national grid at a price and then the national grid can then supply those zones that are yet to meet their energy needs, right?

Exactly. Yesterday while at work, a power station was instructed to shutdown so that the load on the line won’t be much to avoid trip.
