Honestly, this will always be a myth.
There was a period I drove like twice a week, I kid u not each time I came back to d car there was something to fix... From alternator to fan belt to tyre to battery to shock to linkage to brake disk to hub. But when I drive the car everyday I can drive the car for 1 month and will not even gauge tyre.
The only thing I know remains pristine with mild usage is the seats of the car. A car is full of mechanical mobile parts and they are designed to move.
You are so on point.
This is the problem I am facing with my car at the moment.
I use to drive to work everyday from mainland to Island. Then when Lagos was turned in a big construction site with mad traffic, I stop driving to work and use only on Sundays. For over 1 year and half I stopped driving and join public bus.

Now i am back to driving daily and different issues keep creeping up every now and then.

For me it is not how long a car is driving but how well it is maintained

How will you suspect when your riders are just quiet and waiting to get to quiet spot to strike their bad intentions...

Nah God just dey save o, make we no jam anybody with intentions to harm us.

Why don’t you just put a fake CCTV Camera in your car and and print a small poster with CCTV and Tracket in operation and stick it on your car front window, it might act as a deterrent . tell them the camera is recording and linked to a laptop in the office

Good afternoon,

I’ve been following this thread for a while, and I must say it’s been quite insightful. I’m a young female interested in starting as an Uber driver, and I’m currently doing some research to better understand the field.

I’d love to hear from experienced drivers about the following:

How much can one realistically earn in a day?
What are the key dos and don’ts of being a successful Uber driver?
Why do we see fewer female Uber drivers, and how can I navigate challenges specific to women in this field?
What tips can help maximize earnings and improve the overall experience?
Any advice, personal experiences, or resources would be greatly appreciated.
Okay, lemme help the little way I can. So here it goes, in that order:

* You can earn between 10-30k daily after commission and fuel. This depends on a lot of factors like type and condition of car, hours online and market forces.

*Lots to discuss here, you'll probably learn more on the job. But major don'ts, avoid entering one way, avoid parking or pickup along major roads because of lastma, avoid V.I.O. e get why grin , you see that airport area, avoid picking up anyone inside or outside, except the car park.

*Most commercial drivers are male, danfo, Keke even private company drivers are mostly male. That's just the way it is everywhere. As a female driver, just be cool and calculated. If those lekki boys dey toast you, no gree for them o grin Most of them no get money, pure fake life cheesy

*To maximize earnings, now listen very carefully. As a newbie,Start work early so you can close early. Make sure there's fuel in your car, make sure your car is clean both in and out. During weekdays, in the morning, position around residential areas like lekki, Ajah, gbagada, Maryland, ogudu etc. Then in the afternoon from 3 or 4pm, position around commercial areas like ikeja, VI, Ikoyi, surulere etc to pick those closing from work.
Weekends na freestyle.

*The rest you'll learn on the job. Always look out for road signs. If lastma hold you for any offense, try settle with them before una reach their warehouse o grin. Don't allow Rider dictate to you where to pass. Don't do over familiarity with your rider. Police is your friend, if they stop you, just tell them you're Uber, they'll let you go, unless you carry those boys, just let them do their job, nothing concern you.

I think I've tried. You can shoot me a DM if you need more. Don't worry, I won't toast you grin

I would like to know for how long you've been driving
It's not for the weak, you have to be dogged but no road rage or tussle.
It won't always be rossy, there are good days and also bad days.

I feel being a lady, there will be little advantage as passengers will be surprised and tend to tip you alot and they will also want to take advantage of you too( running of fake transfers)

Don't do late night rides, always end all trips by 6pm. Make Google maps your frnd. Ply the routes you are mostly familiar with. Have the mindset that everyone is out there to rip you off. Be smart.
Make sure your vehicle is full functional before setting out inorder not to have a messed up day. Have little mechanical know how of your vehicle.
Make sure all documents are complete and upto date.
Always have cash at hand, confirm payment before letting your passengers go.

Process of Onboaring
Download Bolt drivers app, sign up and follow the prompt, upload all necessary documents that be requested. Not all requested docs are necessary for uploading, the astericed column is a must submit documets. It's a seamless registration process though. You will be updated upon confirmation of all documents, including your drivers licence. You will have 4mnths ride before going for Bolt Car inspection.

Drop the update here as you go bye it, Men are here to help you. Feel free to ask questions here, there are people here to always help out.

Reason why you rarely see female drivers is because of their safety, the kind of society we are is not kind to them when alone in an unfamiliar place. Also the number of hrs worked in a day will impact your profit for that day. I don't think a lady can go 6hrs stretch driving and navigating unfamiliar routes.

I salute your decision to join this hustle but pls note that when the money comes in a bit or huge, always find an escape route before you get trapped in. It's fun but learn to keep your cool when the frustrating times and passengers comes.

Great. Read and assimilate those advices given to you by those two members up there. Also, to maximise your daily profits once you start consult with cheerfulgiver and pearl. Those guys are immense. Wish you were in Abuja, I'd personally show the ropes.

Never ever listen to any idiot who would try to discourage you, especially on here. There are bad days, yes!, but not necessarily in terms of earnings. Ladies like you tend to almost always be the reasons for my bad days. Earning wise, however bad the day is you must go home with 15k after 8hrs of moving your city upandan grin.
I salute your courage, and good luck to you.

It depends on the owner of the car. Nothing specific here. There are some carlots that do car loan. You pay 30-40% of the value of the car then pay the rest over 1 or 2 years.
Some individuals have cars for hire purchase for 500k-1m down payment. Depends on the car owner.

In each case, you'll take care of Total maintenance of the car.

This year, get away from losers, get away from no hopers, get away from negative people because these people will drag you down as assured as an anchor will drag u if tied to your legs.
You are a sum total of the people around u, people u listen to, and people u watch; they all influence you.
How to recognize these people:
people who tell u "u cannot"
who say "it's not possible"

Pay no attention to these people.
