🚨 Tomiyasu and Benjamin White trained indoors today at the Sobha Realty. In the second session they both did ball work with the PT instructor on grass. #arsenalfanaticsnews

Baba, if Arteta had used the 91M he spent last summer on Merino and a luxury Calafiori in addressing one of the concerns you raised up there, I would be more accommodating. He completed the madness with Sterling and Neto. Ownership have supported Arteta, we need to be honest about that.

Raya has been playing every game for us this season, it is only a matter of time he goes down, it is the truth. Who do we fall back on? Neto?

He has had how many transfer windows to address these obvious problems? I mean, we have all been talking about a Saka replacement for nearly 4 seasons since he became a superstar for club and country and what has Arteta done?
I agree Merino is a luxury buy but not Calafiori. We needed a decent LB to replace the inconsistent Zinchencko and the want away Tear-knee.

Calafiori is the right player we needed for that role . Maybe if we had let one of Partey or Jorginho leave , the signing of Merino would’ve made sense .

Arteta and the management deserve tongue lashing for not fixing that Saka side of the pitch at least with a worthy deputy .

Aside that , I think the club has been unfortunate signing some players who end up not living up to expectations . On that I believe every club in EPL have had their fair share of such players ; it’s not peculiar to Arsenal alone .

Tavares can easily do the job calafiori is doing
Check him in Lazio
But arsenal is different we can't afford unfortunate signings
They are much if you add zinchenko, viera, Kai , sambi together
That's almost 160m wasted

Tavares is not suited for EPL , the football in England is too fast paced for him that’s why he seem like he’s an excellent player at Lazio. We’ve tried him in the past and we all see how poor he was; he’s not even as good as Zinchencko that we want to replace .

Some of those players u listed up there , nobody ever thought they will end up being useless when we were signing them. There’s no way any coach can predict if a player will click or not when he reaches ur club . It is only when u start using them that u can then confirm they are not what u were expecting them to be .

Viera for example seem like a decent young player with flair when he was signed . He played well at the under 19 and under 21 European championship where he was named in the team of the tournament . As at the time we were signing him I believe we thought we were adding a gem to our list of talented players like Odegaard . Nobody envisaged that he will be an injury liability who will rarely play .

Point is sometimes the management of the club don’t even know if a player will blow or flop

Turning Amala as usual. Answer my question first. You claimed Torres was given the armband at 19.. why can't we give Nwaneri the armband too?
This question is at best pointless. Do yourself a favour and go back to the original post.

Simple sensible objective reasoning.

So we can say arteta indirectly have knowledge and approval of the players
So over the last 5 years 75% of players signed by our manager is are defenders or defensive minded
15% are attack minded
While 10% are fringe or not needed

If you are part of the board will you trust such person with more investment
Now let’s talk about the fringe players
Viera 45m
Awilo 17m
Tavares 8m
Kiwior 15m
Maquinho 3m

Sum up this we will get 88m, that’s small club transfer budget just imagine what we will do with the money right now
And we seems to forget arsenal is not a spending club and arsenal having the luxury with the help of the UK fans to have enough funds only to be blowing it
A part of me want to add kaikai and zinchenko because those 2 didn’t add anything to the squad

Abeg he should go to save his almighty reputation
City, Madrid or Barca can sign him
That 88m for 6 players are the kind of signings you do when you are coming from finishing 8th in the previous season.

Imagine that a club like Brentford or West Ham wants to sign Harry Kane or Musiala with 130m. It won't happen despite that/even if they have the money. They have to start somewhere and hope that those players click

A manager's wages is not necessarily a direct indication of how well the manager is doing as regards managing the team. Most times manager's wages are as a result of negotiations between his agent and the management of the club.

I'm sure he didn't force the club management to hand him a contract that made him the second highest paid manager in the league.

Taking Arsenal from where we were before he joined to where we are now is a feat some other managers have not been able to do with their club. I doubt the club management will sack him because he came second.

In fact, I doubt any club in the premier league will sack their manager because the team came second having spent money on players. You as a fan may call such manager a failure, but the management of the club are will not use emotion to sack a coach that came second in the league, pay him huge severance package and then sign a new manager whom they are not sure will make top 4 the next season.

This is my personal opinion.
I don't see how finishing second should warrant a sack letter. This is funny in a shameful way. The least you can do is to encourage the person to take the next step. Any parent the flogs the child for coming second is a sadist.

The difference is that Pepe signing made us finish way below top 4, while we finished second in the league with Havertz signing.

This is not me supporting Havertz signing (because I actually don't like Havertz as a player), but just stating facts and putting things into context.

I believe Havertz siging is most stupid signing we ever made after Willian's.
Don't fall for that trap.

Havertz is like Giroud. He may not give that kind of Lewandoski vibe but he does his job the way the manager instructs. Havertz was our second top scorer last season and is currently our top scorer. So how does it make him the most stupid signing? Emphasis on the bolded

@mine3112

Winning the league is a stretch for NF and I don’t see it happening. They have overachieved as it stands and it will be massive if they finish top 4. They are such a difficult team to score against because they are so organized without the ball. I think they finish just outside the top 4, I’d say 5th or 6th.

It is a now 20 years since we last won the EPL and every missed opportunity hurts even more. God I desperately wish we can get this one.

Havertz wasted a whole lot of chances before he scored the paltry amount of goals that made him our second top scorer.

Imagine a player who primarily played as striker for most of the league scoring just 13 goals while Saka who played as a winger scoring 16 league goals.

You are right that Havertz is like Giroud, they are both terrible strikers in Arsenal colors. I'm sure the manager did not instruct him to miss chances like he does because I can see u claiming he does his job the way the manager instructs.

I repeat Havertz is most stupid signing we made , Eddie Nketiah would've scored the same goals he scored and even more without us wasting over 60 million on Havertz.

Is Havertz a striker?

Whether you are looking at it from his skill set to even his role in the team he is not a striker. He is an AM that plays as a false 9.

I agree his finishing appeals for more, but he definitely cannot be the most stupid signing. Definitely never. By all means never.

I’m not here to talk semantics with u, Havertz is Arsenal’s player that plays farthest inside the opponent’s half . Whatever name u choose to call his role is immaterial ; he’s saddled with goal scoring in the team and somehow wingers are outscoring him .

His signing is the most stupid signing because we needed a player who is known more for scoring goals at the time he was signed . He was supposed to be that guy who would score load of goals but always find ways to keep the ball out of the net than putting it inside the set .
