STOP SAYING IKWERRE ARE NOT IGBO: MAN BLASTS IKERRE ELDERS FANATICS, URGES END TO DEROGATORY REMARKS

In this video, we’re talking about something that’s been stirring a lot of debate — the claim that Ikwerre people are not Igbo. But here's the thing — the facts tell a different story.

Now, some people believe that the Ikwerre are a unique group and not part of the Igbo tribe. There are even claims that positions given to Ikwerre leaders by Igbo elders were just strategic moves to “claim” them. But here’s the kicker — respected elders and documented history show a strong connection between Ikwerre and Igbo heritage.

Let’s break it down. Former Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Uche Okwukwu, has spoken in detail about Ikwerre ancestry. Historical records, like those from the Portuguese visiting Ikwerre land as early as 1400 AD, show that the people there were already settled and identified as Igbo.

Even the Oba of Benin, who once served as a commissioner in Rivers State, wrote that the Ikwerre and Etche are typical Igbo people. In 1958, the Henry Willink report confirmed this connection, stating that Port Harcourt itself is an Igbo town.

And it’s not just historical books — prominent Ikwerre figures like Chibuike Amaechi, Emmanuel Aguma, and Okogbule Wonodi openly identify as Igbo. The facts are out there.

So why are the Ikwerre people now confusing people about this Igbo and not Igbo, when recently their son, Azuta Mbata got elected as Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General?

Guys, I’ll let you watch this video for yourself so you can see exactly what I’m talking about. Also, don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe to this channel if you haven’t already done so.

I don't see any issues here. Let the Ikwerres who identify as Igbo be Igbo and those who identify as non Igbos remain that way. There are Igbos in Equatorial Guinea,Cameroun, Gabon and Benue State who identify as Igbos.
Igbo is not a tribe, it's a nation with many tribes
If Igbo are ruteless and dominant, they would easily have swallowed up all tribes around them with their population. At the core of Igbo philosophy has always been "live and let live"
