fuke:So if ironsi removed regional government more than 50 years ago as a military head of state, how come no civilian president including Tinubu brought it back through the constitution? Or is the civilian government not supposed to right the wrong of the military? This distorted and outdated narrative is clearly illogical! |

garykoeman:Being that you lack wisdom, you were not supposed to ask some of the senseless questions you asked. Nnamdi Azikiwe was informed about the coup by his cousin who happened to be one of the coup leaders; Ifeajuna. Mind you there was no Telephone to call international immediately then, only Telegram I guess which took days and Zik was in the Carribeans on medical vacation. So who phoned and told him? Of course the young, naive Igbo officers may have been tribalist with tribal sentiments in their hearts, that was purely their own decision and not all Igbos decision. That they decided to spare Igbo officers and politicians was their own individual decisions, they never consulted Igbo communities to get their approval to do so, so it was purely a military affair that ought to have ended within the military and politicians. Igbos even wished Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe was killed in the coup cos most Igbos then never liked him cos he was more of pan African than Pan Igbo, so most Igbos didn't even liked him, so him being spared was based on the coupists volition and not from generality of Igbos. No Igbo condemned the counter coup that killed Ironsi the then head of state and also led to death of hundreds of Igbo military officers, it was justified, one one, no issue, where the issue arose was Yorubas and Hausa-Fulanis tagging the coup an Igbo coup and extending the madness to innocent Igbo civilians living peacefully in the North out of the collective envy Hausa-Fulanis and Yorubas had for Igbos even before the January 1966 coup just because of Igbo people's success and dominance in most sectors then which was purely on merit, that was why it was tagged Igbo coup to use the opportunity to wipe Igbos out nothing more or less. Same pattern has continued till date where Yorubas try everything humanly possible to tag anything as Igbo agenda to incite other Nigerian tribes to join them hate and attack Igbos, which social media is gradually changing unlike before that there was no social media to counter Yoruba people's lies, propaganda and incitement of other tribes against Igbos like they did from 1966 to 2010 or thereabouts. Peter Obi came out and Igbos massively supported him, first time Igbos ever united and supported an Igbo Presidential candidate, something they didn't even do during Nnamdi Azikiwe era, what did Yorubas do? They kept using every media channel to paint Peter Obi as an Igbo candidate as if there were no Yoruba, Hausa-Fulani, etc candidates. See if una like learn, if una like dont learn and repent, na nature go settle una matter last last. As for progress and success, Igbos will remain the most successful tribe in Nigeria whether una like am or not, na God do am. You guys need to have visited Southeast last December to know that Igbo people are 30much, anybody thinking he can stop Igbos is wasting his or her time, it's like hitting your bare hands on a tipper fully loaded with concrete and hoping that your bare hands would stop the tipper from moving, una no fit stop Igbos from shinning and progressing, its God's gift, if we survived the pogrom and the brutal civil war that followed plus the decades of federal political marginalization since 1970 to become a formidable force we are today in Nigeria and outside Nigeria, that should have made you wicked souls and haters of Igbos to give up and let Igbos be |

How long will these disgruntled lazy yorubas continue to distort history just because of winning elections? Everyone already knows ojukwu and azikiwe where never part of that coup ojukwu who was commanding an army division in kano at that time even protected all the emirs under his authority yet this mental patient and others like her have been trying everything in their books to instigate ethnic hatred against the igbos in nigeria once again. |

PulaPower:For posterity, a correction needs to be made. After Nigeria gained her independence in October 1, 1960, Chief Obafemi Awolowo who was the leader of the Yorubas and former Premier of the defunct Western Region was conspired against. He was jailed 10 years over a trumped up charge of ‘treason’. Awo’s detractors were so happy. It was during this period of jubilation that Ogunde and his troupe were invited by the new Western Region government headed by one-time best friend of Chief Awolowo, Chief Ladoke Akintola, to present plays. Chief Ogunde unveiled two plays; Yoruba Ronu (Yoruba Think) and Otitokoro (Truth is bitter).Source: https://ogundemuseum.org/article07.html |

The same pattern which lead to the killing of northerner and westerner by ibos officer in the first republic rear it ugly head in the last election. When your people were all over the place portraying obi has a saint while demonizing other candidates character and antecedent. You ibos should continue fooling urself but other tribes are wise enough not to be decieved by your people never again. I rest my pen. |

franchasofficia:Those spreading the igbo propaganda already know the truth about the coup but choose to distort the history because it's very convenient for them to continue to use it to grab political power for themselves but am very sure the north is already getting tired of this Igbo propaganda because they are the most affected by it due to the bad governance it breeds at the long run. |

But what did they want to achieve with that coup? Just for the little chance of being in charge of the armory and having a sizeable number of officers in the military, they sort to eliminate other tribes. Imagine them as president. Though the North made them pay with their lives in millions for this. SW has always been at the receiving ends due to their docile and friendly nature. If it were be in a different clime, IPOB will forever be banished from Yoruba land. But here they are, comfortable enough to even aspire to rule in Yoruba land. I know they won't enjoy these privileges forever. The people will wake up to them one day, just a matter of time. Especially for the fact that, you are still rascally and arrogant to them |

Some people are out there intermarrying despite the odds and hatred fostering peace and national unity. While most of you are here cultivating hatred for others and self hate for yourselves. A Coup of how many decades ago, when most of you might not have been born is what you are all busy masturbating on. A Military Institution carried out a coup against a civilian govt. Instead blaming the institution you all mischievously drag a whole tribe into a crime. I wonder how all of you sleep at night. @seun you are loosing the plot on a daily by allowing your platform be a fertile ground for all kinds of hates. From Politics to Religion to Tribe guy you can do better. |

Stop lying! It was an ibos coup, the Yoruba man and other tribe were ambushed and trapped, they didn't realize what was going on until it was too late. It was like a man who thought that he was having a fun ride with friends around town until he finds his friends pulling into a bank to rob it and before he could say jack his friends are in a shootout with police. You even betrayed brotherhood in the military, no one should ever trust you. Anyways people know that you people can never tell the truth in this world. But know that only your account will be different because truth doesn't change. And the funniest of your lies was, you wanted to make your sworn enemy Awolowo the president, the man you couldn't wait to put in prison Immediately after the British left on fake charges. You also killed Yoruba leaders and others, while you spared your own leaders, the north retaliated, you moved back home and declared Biafra about a year later after looting all the central banks. You would have had your biafra if you didn't invade Yorubaland, the very single act that got Yoruba involved and cost you the war. Awolowo told the north that if ibos are allowed to go, he would lead Yoruba out too. But you didn't leave because of covetousness. Greed is the only reason you didn't get biafra. This was what led to biafra war. But since no one can lie more than you people, not even the devil himself, go ahead and keep deceiving yourselves. One day you will face the truth. franchasofficia: |

franchasofficia:your points are more or less dancing around the bush. It is not Yorubas who killed themselves neither was it the Hausas/fulanis who killed themselves. Study showed that most eastern leaders on the same ranking and footing with the western and northern leader were all spared and the chief of army staff coming from the eastern region then. And unfortunately refused to execute the coup plotters. Easterners were the majority in the coup plotting, so mentioning other tribes is as if, saying that their subjects could have disobeyed their superiors on the grounds of order. And everyone knows how the military works, no one dares! So count the few none igbos out! Who were involved. Let’s stop sugar coating the scenario, the truth is bitter. And that is why the easterners are bitter until this very day over what has always been in their minds by wanting to break away after all failed attempts of taking full control of the country as they were already planted everywhere then at at the time. It is not your fault neither was it mine, but that was what actually happened. An average Igbo man on the street never accepts this reality of the past! They prefer telling tales that will cover up for their faults and short comings of the past which is not possible. One can’t buy facts over using false means. Truth remain truth. We are talking about logic and reality. Those who never witnessed it can still deduce the truth logically. |

The truth is the truth. FFK first wrote this, and Kemi is supporting his story. I had written about this war before. The fact is that Igbo will NEVER take responsibility of their actions. Lol. And I have said it several times, Igbo will not be allowed to rule NIGERIA again. Zik, an Igbo man was the first Nigerian president, and will be the last. The only way there will ever be an Igbo president is an Igbo president of an Igbo nation. Yoruba will keep playing Igbo around, and the north (Hausa and Fulani) will keep saying it to the face of Igbo that it will never happen. And I strongly believe that it will not happen. My advice to this generation is that Igbo should find a way to develop their region, so they can be ready to diplomatically cut away from Nigeria. But they are all in Lagos and PH fighting there that they developed both places. Lol. Main while, their hosts have keep them tight there like how Pharoah kept Israelites in bondage in Egypt. Lol. Even their savior Obi ruled Anambra, but ran to Lagos after 8 years of governing the state. Lol. Did we hear Elrufai ran out of Kaduna after ruling it? Where did Buhari return to? What about OBJ? Obj returned to his Otta farm in Ogun. Lol. How many Igbo ruled their states and returned there? Even Soludo will return to Lagos after his tenure. Lol. So, Igbo isn't ready to be independent. They wanted to take Nigeria out of greediness in the 60s, but they met their calamity and stagnation. It's ONLY a Yoruba, Fulani, or Hausa that will split this nation if it will happen. And I see it happening soon after Tinubu because the signals are already there. My advice to Igbo is to be smart and find means to start developing their region. Infrastructural development happening in south-west is massive and road networking here and there in the region are the signals I am seeing. Those networks are there for Lagos to keep raking income from sea importation. From Lagos, you pay and they move your goods via road. Wike is following the same pattern in Rivers. Borders will soon be erected in strategic positions. Mark my words. Let us be real to ourselves? How many people want to live in Igboland? Be real? Even Igbos themselves are running away. More Igbos are born in Lagos and PH.....are those kids the ones you expect to return to their region? But when it happens, they will be forced to leave. So, why can't they just be smart for once and start doing what is right instead of constituting nuisance on social media platforms? These articles serve as both reminders of the past and prophecies for what is to come. He who has ears, let such use it well. A foretold war cannot kill a wise lame. |

Honestly, you are very Deluded. The Earlier Igbos Parents tell their kids the truth the better. The way things are going, we may never have an Igbo Presidency in Nigeria. There are many ethnic groups in Nigeria. Igbos think they own Calabar, Akwa Ibom, Delta. Jokers! Listen, read you history first and find out Igbos were Slaves to other tribes 300years Ago. franchasofficia: |

While the stage play was ongoing, Premier Akintola and his commissioners left the theatre angrily because they believed the play was condemning his govt.
