LCling:the battle is not for Tinubu only. The southern governors need to speak with one voice and possibly win some few governors from the middle belt and they will get the majority say, same with the national assembly. This is democracy, it's a game of numbers. You have to lobby to get what you want otherwise you will be wasting your time. |

Tinubu has opened the door for splitting Nigeria. VAT sharing formular is the only issue we are worriwd about presently, and this can split Nigeria peacefully. I am sure that Lagos, PH, and other productive states don't align with this. The issue here is that most productive states will want minimum of 50% derivative and population will be scrapped or reduced. While parasite states want more VAT because they have many unproductive useless citizens they use to win elections but are nuisance to helping the economy and GDP. Truly speaking, I don't expect much to happen now, but the eyes of everyone is now cleared. I want to see the reaction of people you collect beer tax from and share with people destroying beer businesses....lol. See eh...Tinubu is in a tight corner and has opened a debate that will split Nigeria. Is this deliberate? Really, any government that doesn't want wahala will NEVER bring this up. I repeat NEVER. But for Tinubu to bring it up and them with massive borrowing to quickly put more infrastructure in place, I see this government moving towards splitting Nigeria. It seems there is a meeting that the south cannot co-exist again with the north. And we know that Yoruba and Igbo cannot also coexist. This is a fact. As in, everyone now knows what is derivative, population and equality sharing formular, and you expect them to.fold their arms when the north start destroying beers. See...a war has been triggered. ![]() I don't see Nigeria again. Tinubu may be the beginning of the end. Will this be a good legacy or bad? Time will tell. I am presently laughing at this governors. Kwara state governor thinks he a leader of the governors...he will soon hear words from his colleagues. With Wike running Rivers and Tinubu still in charge of Lagos, and you all think they will allow this go like that? ![]() |

You totally summarized why this recommendation disgusts me. They want us to reward their lack of innovation to raise revenue and consumption, their useless and unproductive population and diabolical sense of entitlement to the resources of a productive few in Nigeria. CodeTemplarr: |

I pray Tinubu will call the bluff of these useless and unproductive governors regarding the VAT sharing formula. Why should we reward unproductive people?! Everyone should go and work hard to improve productivity, IGR, investments and consumption in their states. These PARASITES and LEACHES keep the productive few in Nigeria tied down! |

Most mining activities is illegal and is not accounted for. Unlike in the South where illegal refineries are destroyed, Northerners illegally mine minerals freely and sell to the black market. ozo13: |

| Re: Nigerian Governors Back Tax Reform Bills, Propose VAT Sharing Formula by epainos: 7:41am On Jan 17, 2025 |
Educationalserv:In everything you wrote, beer drinking is the only issue you pick. It's a small issue. Right? But to those drinking beer, is it? And do you know the amount of VAT that could be generated if they weren't destroyed? Add that to VAT and let's see if it isn't significant. If you say it is insignificant, then, let them make estimate and cancel it from the income of the states. Lol. They won't agree na. Even it is 1Naira....there are millions insignificant issues like that in many areas that if you add up, they will be significant. And not until you decide to start somewhere. Have you heard that only insignificant issue spark wars? Yes, that issue is the last straw that broke the camel's back. And that's it. It's just a little effort to strike a match and ignite an area well soaked with petrol. If you don't understand everything....look for someone to explain the meaning of droplets of water form a mighty ocean. You will get it how Tinubu has opened the gate to separate Nigeria with this VAT issue. If you still don't want to understand because you care not, the result will show you shege. ![]() Goodluck. I don't have time to reply you again. |
