otherway:Same thing here. There's Accident & Emergency ward in all Government Hospitals in Nigeria. Oh maybe I should remind you that we are all not dead in Nigeria since you left. Yes it could seriously get better, but it's supporting. |

budaatum:This report is about NHS care, provided by the government. Private hospitals are expensive, so few can afford them, but those few include our criminal leaders. |

budaatum:Just as you have a section in lasuth called CCU that is privately owned but staffed by consultants working in lasuth. The difference is that you have priority access to all the consultants and specialist compared to those in the general section. |

tuoyoojo:But you also forget that not all those migrants are health care givers. Even the health care givers and their families who are not health care givers also need the services of the hospitals as they also fall sick. UK is over crowded with foreigners. Though they are not alone in this. They must find a way to upgrade. |

ozo13:The issue is not about personnel, it is about health facilities on ground. The number of patients waiting for treatment is much bigger than hospitals space. Like bed, oxygen and other health equipment. They need to build more hospitals and buy acquire more equipments, probably hire more staff. |

When bad news like this comes out of the UK guess who suffers most- immigrants. They will usually start with those in the lowest rung of the ladder, Nigerians before they go on to Indians, Pakistanis and so on and so forthe |

Bigboytinz:Agbadorians … always looking for news to justify this failure of a government. So because people are dying In the corridors of UK hospitals, it’s fine for the Nigerian government not to bother building or equipping hospitals in Niger. APC supporters are demonic lots that want to bring everyone to their level of poverty. |

budaatum:Say only what you know. This is government Hospitals, like our general hospitals. Private hospitals are not like this but super super expensive. Imagine paying £600 for MRI, whereas in Nigeria it's cheaper at private diagnostic centres. |

Perhaps due to over employment of too many Nigerian doctors and nurses who resort to pray for patients before commencing treatment even in emergency cases thereby leading to deaths from delays caused by prayers and expectations of miracle from sky daddy. |

Tolu2024:You're on point here. Keir Starmer was in Ukraine on Wednesday to assure Zelenskyy of UK's support, all in a bid to "defeat" Russia. But back in his home country, there are a lot of problems to be solved, including inadequate NHS hospital facilities. Like the saying, the West have enough money for wars but don't have money to take care of its citizens. |

davodyguy:Didn't you detect "sarcasm" in the post that you quoted? @Budaatum was just being "sarcastic" by using anecdotes. ![]() An average of £600 for standard MRI is really high in those private UK hospitals though. People would begin to look elsewhere if they can get it cheaper. |
