I am positive, just wondering how people are badging 5.0 every year now, does it mean it's now easy to get 5.0?
They probably have easier access to study materials over the years due to better internet availabilty at higher bandwidth. Also, lecturers are under more scrutiny due to social media. Those are two of several factors.

Significantly easier.

Those days, even if you were so brilliant as to merit a 5.0, Universities would dash you one or two B's just to dent it.

Nowadays, first class are so much that schools don't even care. It's no longer a unicorn.

True! I was watching a Youtube video on engineering thermodynamics. I couldn't believe how difficult concepts were explained in very simple ways. Our typical professors struggled to break them down making interesting topics very unappealing and extremely hard.

Good one guys...people like this hardly have a social life.

I fight for first class that time too...them still slam me gallant 2:1 cheesy
Eh, them no slam you anything sir. I get that you're being positive but you got exactly what you deserved. That's assuming you actually got a 2:1. 2:1 isn't bad though 😜

As long you understand that all you need to get an A is to score 70marks out of 100, and all you need to get a 5.00 GPA is to score an A in every course, you will no longer wonder. Not an insurmountable task.

You also need to understand that the volume of information available to students these days also helps them broaden their knowledge, and makes them "smarter", if you will - lecture videos from different schools across the World, AI-powered search engines, are some examples.

But you didn't make a First Class, did you?

Talk true, they didn't give you that was what you got.

I have a friend that was supposed to make a first class. He got corky and started following big nyash. The big nyash squashed his cgpa in final year. If not that he was a brilliant student he would have ended up with not just a 2:1 but also with an extra year.
You sounded jealous....

It's cocky, not corky...

It's not easy anywhere. Less than ten people have graduated with a perfect across all federal universities.

So, it's not common.

Ayodele Dada, the most prominent perfect CGPA graduate, worked with Procter and Gamble and later CBN before heading to Stanford to enrol for his PhD as a Knight Hennessy scholar. David Akanmmu who had a similar grade last session worked with Boston Consulting Group before heading to the same Stanford. The one from Covenant - Accounting - works with Boston as well.

Please say something different.

While I agreed that no field of study is easy to get perfect CGPA. If one is extremely good at Mathematics, you can easily get a perfect grade in Engineering but in courses like these guys did - pure sciences which are majorly writing and wordy, omo it will not only take brain but also grace, and favor (lecturers can mark you down as hes/he wishes no matter what you write i.e it is not 2+2 which is universally accepted to be 4).
