If you ever go to court, and court sets you free, but government asks the same court to suspend their decision, keep you jail for months or years while the appeal at the Supreme court, you will understand where Kanu is coming from

If Kanu is convicted today in court and sent to jail, will Kanu be able to ask court to suspend that decision while he appeals to the Supreme court? Or will he beging his sentence and appeal from jail?

That is known as judicial rascality
You are explaining to people that won’t understand. Please use pidgin English so they’ll understand.

Make I help out.

Appeal court say dem don free Kanu but the same appeal court say dem no go release am again. We never see where this one don happen before for law. And the matter never reach Supreme Court self.

This is not about Igbos alone, it is the evidence of the rot in the Nigerian judicial system. It has happened several times especially when the government has a special interest in the case

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has offered one million naira to students of Nigerian law school.

This is why you don't run your mouth against the government. The government decides what the law is and they decide what justice is. If they say "injustice" is "justice" what do you want to do? Nigeria has always been led by tyrannical leaders because most Nigerians are tyrants. Give them small power and they will declare themselves the "alpha and omega".

Kanu's legal team sought a separate high court ruling challenging his rendition back to Nigeria as being illegal without recourse to international procedures and laws.

The FG appealled up to the supreme court which decided that Kanu should continue his trial .

No court had acquitted and discharged Kanu.
so what was the judgment of the lower courts before it got to the supreme court?, take the judgment of my above question and relate it to what the lawyers are saying now .

All this has nothing to do with the challenge Nnamdi Kanu set. The court of appeal discharged and ordered that Kanu be released. The government ran to the same Appeal court to ask that court to stay its own judgement while it appealed that judgement at the Supreme court

What Kanu is asking is where has it happened that a person is set free by a court, you ask that same court to temporarily keep the person it already freed, in jail, while you appeal at a higher court? How can any person ask a court to suspend its own judgement so they can appeal elsewhere?

I have never heard of such judicial rascality in my life, and I'm sure no Law student has either
Can we have a copy of the ruling staying his release?

Kanu my boi, though you are away for long and dont know inflation has eaten deep into our naira because 1M now is like 100k. But you try. These people know what they are doing, the reason they are keeping you there and releasing terrorists who kill and burn. The weight of injustice is too heavy on this country, part of the reason nothing is working. However, i know one day, Zambia shall be free

It’s not about Nigeria but about humans. It happens everywhere in the world.

The judiciary has always been a tool used by the powerful to curtail the excesses of ordinary citizens.

If an ordinary citizen did a quarter of what Donald Trump did, he will be behind bars as we speak, but there is always a way to twist the law by the powerful.

Look at the UK where Prince Andrew was confirmed to have had connections with Jeffrey Epstein, what happened? Just the royals dissociating from him. If it were to be an ordinary citizen, case will be investigated to the core while you relax in jail.

Morale of the story, make money and have good connections so you can be above the law. The law is never fair, blind or equal.

You can not be selective in which judgement to abide to.

The supreme court has ruled that Kanu's case mist continue and that is final.

AntiZikist:
There's already a Supreme Court ruling that has put aside the original High Court ruling that ordered Kanu to be released from DSS custody and returned to Kenya over the rendition carried out by the Nigerian government.

The High Court ruling that ordered Kanu's rendition as illegal is separate from that in which he is standing trial for Treason and terrorism charges.

At no point has any court in Nigeria acquitted and discharged Kanu for his existing treasonable felon and terrorism case.

The Supreme Court overturned the separate high court ruling declaring Kanu's rendition illegal and declared that Kanu should continue to face his criminal case that has been pending for years.

No court in Nigeria has acquitted and discharged Kanu for his criminal case and the Supreme court has since set aside the parallel High Court ruling declaring his rendition illegal.
You are explaining to headless mobs that doesn't believe anything.

Those advising MNK may unwittingly be making matters worse for him, if you ask me.

MNK's case could only be addressed through a political solution or on compassionate grounds.

If the case is to be followed to its logical and legal conclusion, MNK may remain detained for a much longer time.

It does happen, but not with a criminal case where someone is being held in detention. Someone is being held in detention on alleged criminal offences, the person secures a judgement for his freedom. You run and tell that same court to keep that person in detention untill you exhaust your appeal at a higher court? So the person will be suffering in detention while you go on appeal despite securing a judgement ordering his release?

This is dangerous territory Nigeria is entering because what it means is that someone who won his case at a magistrate court, he can be kept in detention for years as the authorities appeal to higher courts, such as the high court, court of appeal and even Supreme court.

This is judicial rascality on a level I have never heard of
