"Few Kilometers" huh huh huh

Landowner101:
I was nearly hit by a van just because of one JBL loud earpiece like that and my carelessness, the Bass was so good that I wasn't attentive to what's going on around me, The van was on reverse and it was Late at Night, Though Street lights were on, it was just few kilometers near me before something told me to turn back. That was my saving grace that time. Ever since then I stopped blocking my ears with earpiece or any of it kinds. If I want to make use of earpiece I would plug in one ear and leave the other open, in case of emergency.

His Children are now Fatherless

May he RIP

Careless though but it was his time to die.
You should have gone to Gaza to test the time that will be your own time.

Damn the man's spirit would keep moving like nothing happened. He'll still think he's alive cos it happened so fast until he sees that he can't communicate with anyone around him

why NOT he just Travel to Ogun state and Trade his Skull and give the proceeds to his family. undecided sad
It would have been better to go to sit at home and IPOB terrorists infested region, where IPOB terrorists and cannibals would have cannibalised him.

That's strange, but no matter how loud his earpiece was, the horn of a train can't be overshadowed, even if it's the best oraimo earpiece... Also the vibration on the rail line should be enough to create awareness.... If it's not suicide like someone had mentioned, then it's village people...

RIP to the dead
Likely he was killed by a one coach train or two coaches train. One thing with those type of train is that they are faster and less noisy compared to passenger train. They don't produce much vibration and this type of train kill people a lot Moral story, stay away from the tracks and use the ear piece only when you wanna sleep.

This thing has killed many many people but still people don't take precautions. Why should your ears be blocked while walking/driving on the road where you need all your sense organs working perfectly?

People are too careless and senseless in Nigeria. Lagos state had to temporarily stop operations for the red line trains to build a fence at THAT SAME OSHODI to prevent traders and pedestrians from accessing the rail tracks.

Honestly, why would a person in their right senses be selling their wares on a WORKING RAIL TRACK. I TIRE FOR SOME PEOPLE.
I sincerely think it's plain stupidity

It is always unsafe when pedestrians & even drivers wear earpiece while on the road.

But even with earpiece, you should hear or see an approaching train.
Maybe the man commited suicide.
I was thinking the same. No matter how loud the volume is, train horn, the vibration and people shouting and making gestures towards you must send a signal. Plus other people he was with run away. You are right

Even if ure not standing on d rail, d vibration of a moving train send waves to even d foundations of neighbouring buildings and shops , talkless of when standing directly on d rail.

Unless d guys has lost both sense of sight, hearing and feeling, combined with maybe an epilepsy or loss of consciousness before the accident. Then just maybe.

Few kilometres ke.. You don't know maths.
No mind that guy,e follow for people wey dey use grammar anyhow.

A kilometre is like oshodi to ladipo for those who still use kilometres randomly.

For more clarity,if converted to feet,is about 3,280 feet.

For all those asking if he couldn't hear or see the train coming, I will share my personal encounter on this subject...
The major culprit is preoccupation!
I just alighted from a danfo on an ever-busy bustop. I quickly cross toward the empty BRT lane and got preoccupied with counting my balance.
Unknowing to me one BRT bus was speeding and
furiously blaring it's horn toward me but my preoccupied mind just interpreted everything as one of the Buses plying the busy major roads behind and Infront, not the empty BRT lane!
Fortunately as I wasn't in a hurry to cross the lane, the BRT bus could only hit my stretch arms counting the money before I immediately jump back!
It's even worse on Train track for first-time visitors and preoccupied minds where traders displays their wares.
These traders are well attune to the sight and sounds of the train so much so they hardly panic and leave less than a meter space between them and the moving train!
A first-time visitor or preoccupied mind can hardly interprete what's really going on until too late...
they find themselves on the track and got hit!
Nice writeup but the problem is hes not a first timer na. They said his shop is around that place. Its likely not his first time there

E loud gan. Even the deaf must hear!

Its just like telling me aeroplane is landing and people near airport no go hear. How can?

So when you wear earpiece, you become totally deaf. huh
Abeg, try to dey read...
Ogbeni,if you were an earphone with Active Noise Cancelling..

Your ability to hear what's going on in your environment will be severely compromised..

Moreover it is going to mess with your brains ability to process whatever noise gets filtered to it..

If you want to play Ludo with your life.

To know how much an earphone can mess your ability to appreciate a train's blare before it shreds you,it's on you.

Ban trading on or beside all train tracks with heavy fine or jail term for attempted suicide. But the owomida, owo Council, owo chairman, owo omonile. Will not allow them stop all forms of abnormalities in the state. Shame.

So,you have never seen videos of trains running people wearing earphones over or almost running them over, until they were pushed out of the way?

It takes more than mere hearing to acknowledge a noise,no matter how loud..

It takes situational awareness for your brain to process the noise, something blaring a loud music in your ears is going to mess with.

This is must be one of the most naive statements I'm coming across for a while..

Have you seen how long a train is?

Do you expect such a long vehicle to apply an automatic brake and stop immediately?

It takes several moments for a train to come to a stop after applying brakes..

Moreover you don't expect it to apply an instant break just because something jumped on it's way?
