It’s the tragedy of Nigeria.
Illegality upon illegality.

EFCC raid a suspect, like thieves in the night, with no safety gear, no warrant.

Suspect shoots without thinking, with an illegal gun.

Operative gets rushed to hospital, no doctor. A whole govt hospital, 0 doctors and 2 nurses?
The gun legally owned by his father

Now that you have understood that it is a LICENCED gun. You MUST again understand that he has the full right to self-defense. Especially given the modus operandi of the so called EFCC operatives. You cannot just barge into anybody's house in the midnight and expect the person to sit idly and welcome you with open arms especially with the high rate of crimes all over Nigeria.

I am sure the govt robbers did not identity themselves to the doctor and even if they did, which is HIGHLY UNLIKELY, there are better ways they could have met with the Doctor. What stops them from picking him up from his working place/hospital if at all they were genuine? I cannot imagine the trauma the family would be in by that time of the night. My heart goes out to them honestly.

With an average lawyer, the doctor will come out from the case. This is a clear case of SELF-DEFENSE!!!
Difficult to come out of this catastrophy because EFCC will employ all resources at its disposal for justice to served. Even if he comes out of it, the memory will linger

You went to a state that has serious security problem i.e. unknown gunmen and kidnappers and you went there in the night and broke someone's door and you expected him to be clapping for you. This has been Effc pattern of raiding people. A good lawyer would bring the killer out cos he acted in self defense

" They arrived at the General Hospital in Awka but there were no doctors. Only two hospital nurses were around who advised them to look for a private hospital," the top source had narrated further. "

A whole general hospital and no do[/b]ctor is on duty...it is well with Nigeria.
I doubt. General Hospital with no doctor?

That's stuff of horror movies

With a good lawyer he will win the case Easley, why would EFCC forcefully break into someones home knowing fully well the person don't believe they are EFCC but kidnappers, in a state were kidnapping happens frequently?

mad set of lawless attack dogs
the funny part is trying to use media to brand a medical doctor practising his profession as a yahoo boy to suit the narrative. yes it seems the EFCC Buffon has small family backing, but let's see how long this nonsense narrative lasts
no RIP TO WASTE HERE
They'll lose the case. Guys are stupid.

You can’t dictate to federal agents when to operate. The fact that the gun is legal does no mean you can shoot anybody whenever you feel threatened. It states clearly from the write up that the officers identified themselves. Moreover the defendant hid himself in his ceiling knowing fully well the consequences of his actions. He threw away the gun after murdering a federal agent. How can somebody who is claiming self defense hide in a ceiling after shooting and killing someone ? He should have been bold enough to own up to his actions immediately he killed the officer. There is no way self defense will hold.If the judge is lenient, he could get life imprisonment.

OMEGA009:
The law of Self Defense states that you give only as much as you receive. You can’t shoot someone that slaps you or attacks you with a knife. It has to be equal and you only shoot WHEN SHOT AT to prove self defense. Let’s not be buoyed by what we watch on Tv. Moreover, the firearm was licensed to the Father and NOT THE SON. Firearms licenses are not transferable and the license states that it’s for “hunting” and not for domestic use so that License theory is in the toilet too. If I were the Doctor, I would’ve fired a warning shot and if I’m shot at, then I can do direct damage but the deed has been done. My condolences to all parties involved. I hope this fiasco doesn’t cause a rift between the Doctors association and the FG. The EFCC on the other hand need to do better in terms of training and retraining of their staff. This was an avoidable fracas.
You talk lots of sh!t. People are pulling your door down and you are talking about about shooting the air instead of shooting them. Mark my words, EFCC will lose the case.

How will his good lawyer explain the fact that he threw the murder weapon away and hid in the ceiling after committing the offence? The fact that EFCC broke forcefully into his house does not give him the right to shoot at law enforcement agents especially after they identified themselves as EFCC officials. You can’t dictate to EFCC when and how they will operate

the doctor should take efcc to court

he should sue the head of efcc and if possible the family of the badly raised thug who decided to storm an honest mans abode like an armed robber

this nonsense where efcc agents rather than do actual investigative work chose to engage in fishing raids must stop.

Did they have have search warrants? So they just visit houses that gatemen point to and proceed to break in?

You have found out for acting in a very unprofessional manner and now you are worm food!

Him hiding in the ceiling or throwing the gun away doesn't make him guilty cause he was acting in self defense, thinking those who broke into his home were kidnappers pretending to be law enforcement officers, kidnappers do wear police uniforms or military uniforms to commit crime

This is an easy case to win

After shooting and killing the EFCC operative he threw out the gun, a short pump action gun owned and licenced by his father into the bush.

"He hid at first in his ceiling and then crawled to his neighbour’s ceiling from where the police arrested and detained him."

"His father went to the police station to state and support his position that he killed in self-defence.

"All the EFCC operatives dispatched for the night operation had no bulletproof vest. They just wore their branded EFCC jackets."

🖕🏼

How can you burst into people's home in a commando style without bullet proofs and expect them to stay docile and watch you wreck havoc that's impossible

The guy acted on Self defense if I must say
Self defense...but threw the gun away after the shot ? Hahahahahah...I see life in prison...

Ikechukwu Nnamdi, killed an Unknown gun men, terrorism South East. If they, the EFCC succeeded and in that process killed any of occupant of the said house during the operation, they will heap the blame on IPOB and ESN. So Ikechukwu killed an Unknown gun men. All he needs is a good lawyer.

"The EFCC team proceeded to break into his apartment and the suspect opened fire on the lead person; an EFCC operative known as Salisu.

If EFCC go after our crooked politicians on such manner, Naija would have been a better place by now! How can you burst someone's apartments in such a way?
If we tell them say na government officials be this unknown gun men for South east, people go think say na lie.

More death to the EFCC...

EFCC is a criminal outfit, and all the officers of the outfit must die a horrible death like this criminal that was shot dead...

More of this shall befall the EFCC...

What does the fact that the officer is from Sokoto have to do with it ? Are there not officers from Anambra or other eastern states working for EFCC in other parts of the country?EFCC clearly we’re not expecting anybody opening fire on them hence they did not see an issue with going out without bullet proof vests.EFCC is just like any other law enforcement agency. The issue here is why shoot at law enforcement agents especially when nobody shot at you ? Why did you throw the weapon out & hide in the ceiling after murdering a federal agent and attempting to murder a second federal agent? This is no way self defense will hold in any court of law.The officers were on official assignment. You cannot dictate to law enforcement agents when to carry out their duties.
Nigeria is lawless and the way it is today, because of this kind of thinking. You scaled a fence, in the middle of the night, owing to the level of insecurity in the country to make an arrest. What if in the quest to make the arrest in that odd hours and in the criminal style of operation, killed some occupant of the house, as usual people like you will blame ESN and IPOB
