That turtle is at least 300 years old. I know say them don kill am chop already
As large as that, you’re most probably right!

Black Africans sef! All we ever think about is satiating our immediate need…greed even! It didn’t even occur to whoever caught that magnificent creature and ancient of days, that they could make millions of naira if they had publicised their catch and sold to the highest bidder! There are some eccentric millionaires who would want to buy it either for their aquarium or to set it free!

They would make lots of money by keeping the turtle alive than eating it.
Like keeping it for tourism?

I hope this one didn't end up inside pot because the hunger we are facing is enough to mix oil and hot water with anything that comes out from sea

Arojinle educating hungry and ignorant individuals on why they shouldn't eat "bush meat"!!!

There is nothing like conservation in Nigeria... And nothing survives! They kill mother, father and babies of any specie to feed their hunger
Re: Massive Leatherback Turtle Caught In South-West, Nigeria (Video) by eenai(m): 1:09am On Jan 19, 2025
They should free the turtle joor.
Re: Massive Leatherback Turtle Caught In South-West, Nigeria (Video) by Cmanforall: 1:28am On Jan 19, 2025
Bryancrox:
Yea
It would require feeding and awareness. Do you think they will be able to fund it?

Another option would have even to donate it to any established tourist company .

How many people would pay to view it?

There's a very old tortoise in Oyo state, does that generate income to the Palace?

If we have any agency in charge of Wild life preservation they should have located where this occurred by now

Black man may rush to eat it only to find out the cost later like that bayelsa man that caught the expensive blue marlin fish and ate it in ignorance.

How Americans season it:

2 1/2 pounds turtle meat on the bone, or 1 1/2 pounds boneless
▢4 bay leaves
▢Salt
▢1 cup flour
▢8 tablespoons unsalted butter
▢2 celery stalks, minced
▢1 green bell pepper, minced
▢1 1/2 cups minced onion
▢4 garlic cloves, minced
▢One 18- ounce can crushed tomatoes
▢3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
▢1 tablespoon sweet paprika
▢1/2 teaspoon cayenne, or to taste
▢1/2 cup dry sherry
▢1/3 cup chopped parsley
▢2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
▢Grated zest of a lemon
▢Black pepper
▢2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

Did that man have the resources to cash out before it spoiled? Probably not. Better to fry it.

That's how our dog that just gave birth went out last week and never returned. I'm sure that some unscrupulous individuals already turned it to pepper soup.

Hungry people everywhere.

It’s really sad that this endangered leatherback turtle was caught and killed instead of being protected.
The humans are endangered as hunger is the land.

Man must base somewhere. Some people are based in places with most extreme weather conditions. Why I no happy say I'm based in Osogbo, one of the most peaceful and weather friendly cities in Nigeria and the world at large? Be happy with what you have

Turtle is laden with eggs.

It is just looking for where to lay on shore and return to the waters.

Tough luck though because I am sure it will be eaten.

So you choose the animals you eat but feel others who choose the other animals are beasts.
You want to be the food police right?

So much cruelty in the SadWaste region.
See the gruesome torture the yorubanza people put the poor animal through.
There can be no forgiveness from the Almighty for this.
From skullarship, organ harvesting, ritual culturing, they've now added cruelty, evil, and wickedness to their bucket list of deeds.
It is appalling what we see and read from the region of sufferstification and inferiority complexes.
Well, it is well. Irè O!
