We have approved the recruitment of 1,000 additional Amotekun Corps personnel, bringing the total to over 2,000, as part of our commitment to securing every corner of Ogun State.

Alongside this, we are providing more patrol vehicles, electric motorcycles, and communication gadgets to enhance their effectiveness.

This initiative, announced during the passing-out parade of 690 Batch D trainees, aims to strengthen grassroots security, complement federal efforts, and reduce unemployment.

We commend the dedication and discipline of the Corps and urge them to prioritize intelligence gathering and community collaboration while maintaining professionalism.

Governor @DapoAbiodunCON has approved the recruitment of 1,000 additional Amotekun Corps personnel, increasing the total to over 2,000, to enhance security across Ogun State. Speaking at the passing-out parade of 690 Batch D trainees in Sagamu, the governor emphasized the Corps’ role in grassroots security and unemployment reduction, while complementing federal security efforts. He commended the trainees for their discipline and urged them to focus on intelligence gathering and community policing.

The Commandant of the Corps, Brig. Gen. Alade Adedigba (rtd), highlighted the trainees’ preparedness and thanked the government for its support. The ceremony also featured awards and cultural activities.

Ogun’s Amotekun Corps better not follow that path! With 1,000 more recruits, new vehicles, and gadgets, it sounds promising.

Let’s hope they stay professional and actually tackle grassroots security, not just wear uniforms for show.
