So you really believe the price of goods will come down just like that? 15% lohun? Na so E easy? Even in the mighty US of A. Inflation has never gone down by that amount.

Sometimes you people need to reason with your heads, not everytime agbado economica.
It is not agbado economica, anything is possible!

In 1991, Argentina's inflation rate plummeted from an astonishing 1,200% to about 20%. This remarkable drop of approximately 1,180 percentage points is one of the largest recorded decreases in inflation history.

My broda try dey reason proper.Inflation is over 34% n u expect 15% decline without naira to dollar going down below 1000?
We area dollar dependent economy. We export almost nothing apart frm crude n import everything.our currency has been floated so theres no chance ever for 15% inflation drop

There's reason to hope (possible zero import of PMS and diesel, increasing crude out, improvement in agriculture, possible improvement in electricity, possible improvement in security, etc.) 15% reduction in inflation is not impossible. But I trust them to commit the blunders (like allowing unchecked rise in energy prices and doing little about the state of federal roads) that'll make it a pipe dream.
Are you saying that we are continuing the APC shege propaganda empty promises of the last decade?

Emergingnation:
Flashback: How Bola Tinubu spoke highly of Buhari in 2015, named PDP ‘Poverty Development Party

National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu had during the presidential campaign in 2015, referred to President Muhammadu Buhari as the only solution for the security and economic challenges facing Nigeria.

During a mega presidential rally, the former governor of Lagos State recalled how some powerful nations in the world returned to army generals when they were challenged, saying “Major General Buhari would revive Nigeria’s economy”.

He named the current opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP as the “Poverty Development Party saying they had nothing to offer.

His words at the time were; “Every nation has a period of their own challenges, when America was challenged, they turned to one great man, their ex-military general, General Eisenhower. When the French were challenged, they turned to their general, Charles de Gaulle.

“When Britain was challenged, they turned to their general. Today, Nigeria is economically and physically challenged so we turn to General Muhammadu Buhari. He is the right man for the job. If you talk about military experience, he has it abundantly, he has courage, simplicity, he has it abundantly.

“If you talk about great determination, a combination of vision and ability to perform, honesty and integrity, he has it abundantly.

“I laugh when the incapable government, ‘Poverty Development Party’ PDP were talking. They have nothing again to say, they now want to question the qualifications of General Buhari and look for his certificate”.

Following the manifestos in 2015 which projected the APC presidential candidate as a ‘saviour’, Buhari defeated the then incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with Nigerians expecting a total change in security and economy.

Well, impossibility is nothing but chances of deflation is very low
The problem with Nairaland and the internet is that the uneducated and uninformed have an opinion.

What is inflation, what is deflation?

Inflation is increase in prices, deflation is a reduction in prices.

When they say inflation will fall by 15% or to 15%, they are not saying prices will come down …which is deflation. What they are saying is the rate of inflation will fall from 30% to 15%. What they are saying is prices which rose from N100 to N130 last year will only rise from N130 to N150 this year (15%)

This is very acheivable because the worst of the causes of last years inflation are behind us. Subsidy has been removed and the Naira is not going to go from N1600 to N6000 in 2025 like it went from N400 to N1600 on 2024.

Reduction in inflation does not mean prices will come down, just that they will rise at a slower rate…..what did they teach you in “o” level economics, how did you pass?

Read between the lines.. these report is meant to cajole the masses but they can only deceive their gullible supporters. Using figures and semantics to deceive the masses is most unfair.

With inflation currently at around 34%, a consistently high figure for over a year.. Ordinary Nigerians are forced to feel the brunt of all these, and they don't deserve it.

Decline by 15% means it would come down to 29% in 2025 (15% of 34% is about 5%)

They are not ready..

Or maybe they are, they just can't give what they don't have.

The CBN governor once swore that Inflation would come down to 21% in Dec 24. They think everyone has forgotten or maybe so it seems. The people that are supposed to ask them what happened are too busy padding budgets..

A serious government would bring inflation, that they caused, down in less than one year. It's no rocket science, Argentina did it.

They are still giving excuses going to 2 years.

We can only say.. 'it is well'..
It's a black country being run by blacks, so do you actually expect any better? smiley

Am very sure you were high while typing this. How? I mean How ? Do you think we are that daft? Do you understand what moving from 34% to 28.5% on inflation means? The current 34% is already manipulated to make it look manageable. With the level of corruption and greed, we are nothing less than 50% inflation at the moment

Exceptions do not make the rule. Just recently Telcos increased prices by 50%, being voracious capitalist, they would fight too and nail to maintain their profit margins irrespective of economic situation. Same goes for oil marketers and basically every business owner. You cannot force the markets to respond the way you want and a 15% inflation reduction in a year is way too optimistic.

Then again, this is the mantra of this administration:
Over promise, fail, then repeat.
