This Cunha guy just dey do me like another Havertz signing. Walai, I pray it does not pull through. We need a proper 9 with numbers. Buy once and do all Lil what we did with Auba. All this he can play across all front, he can do this and that don tire me |

johnjunior39:How is Cunha signing going to be similar to Havertz's ? Cunha has scored 10 goals in 21 EPL games this season already. I believe signing him to use him as a winger and then signing another CF will not be a bad business at all. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by iamoyindamola(m): 8:43am On Jan 22, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:Unless that's what we want to do Cunha is not a CF but a winger, knowing how our coach is obsessed with 3 in 1 kind of players We might not get a real 9 but those jack of all trades type |

daveP:I've never really liked this Vlahovic and wasn't looking forward to us signing him. I'd rather we sign Osimhen as our CF now that he's currently available. |

iamoyindamola:The only thing that will make sense is for us to sign a winger and a CF .That way we will have enough squad depth and we won't be lamenting anytime Saka is injured ; also we will have our goal scoring challenges sorted once and for all |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by iamoyindamola(m): 9:01am On Jan 22, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:Exactly my thought too A winger and a CF not buy 1 get 3 free |

BlueRayDick:You really believe in Arteta that he will sign Cunha for 80m or so to come and play as a winger ? See let him just give us a striker biko. A proper one oh not they one that can play 7 positions |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Fkforyou(m): 9:32am On Jan 22, 2025 |
iamoyindamola:As in…! It’s so annoying. We sign people that would improve the team, not cause us to tinker formation here and there. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 9:52am On Jan 22, 2025 |
johnjunior39:It is not about what I believe or what u believe. It is not Arteta's money but the club's money. If we need a striker and a winger, it is only expected of him to suggest his preferred targets for the roles to the management and let them push to get them signed. We need both winger and striker, so let them sign both. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by johnjunior39(m): 10:01am On Jan 22, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:You and I know that Arteta don't think you need any winger first of all. You and I know that Arteta will rather recall little man from Porto. And you and I know that if Cunha come is a case of he can play 9. Like I said, my prayer is let them get a proper 9 |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 10:14am On Jan 22, 2025 |
johnjunior39:We've all seen that Viera cannot play on the wings, even Arteta himself knows this; that's why he was sent on loan since there's no space for him in the middle where we have Odegaard holding it on lockdown. Cunha is at best a decent winger who will contribute goals from the wings.Even if we don't sign Cunha, we will need to sign another winger to play the righ wing because we are quite light on that side of the pitch. The fact that Gabriel Jesus is injured makes it imperative for us to also sign a decent striker and Osimhen is not a bad choice. This is not about having a pre-conceived notion about Arteta; honestly I wonder why u guys find it so easy to blame Arteta for everything while absolving the club's management of any fault. Even before Arteta joined this club as a coach, we've been having issues of not signing players we the club feel we need. Don't u think it may be the club management's issue and not necessarily the coaches? |

germaphobe:Let exclude Martinez out of it... But everyone know Arteta chased Leno, just to bring Rasmdele and sell the Rasmdele again.. (let assume Leno is not good but y can't he do proper scouting before signing Rasmdele) In goal keeper aspect, Arteta failed... Look at Sterling again, Arsenal didn't need someone like him and y Would Arteta wait till the last minute of transfer window just to bring Sterling D same with other position Arteta matter really tired me I will never blame the board but Arteta |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by johnjunior39(m): 11:04am On Jan 22, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:I understand you completely and not putting the whole blame on Arteta but he has a role to play. For example remember Lacazette was brought in August and when Wenger was still not satisfied, we signed Auba in January. We had no business honestly getting a new defender yet Calafori was seen as an upgrade. Ramsdale was doing a bit just fine yet Raya came into play. Like I said, If Arteta needed a second for Saka he would have done that. When I saw the news that Nwaneri is back , I just knew that winger issue is buried, Saka will be back by let February which is about 4 weeks or more. Again, my prayer is a pure 9 because me don't see this our board and Arteta buying two players this January so , give us a striker and save us the misery of Havertz before the will start trying Trossard abeg. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 11:37am On Jan 22, 2025 |
johnjunior39:Why do u people keep repeating this line "We had no business honestly getting a new defender yet Calafori was seen as an upgrade" ; as if repeating it countless times will make it true? Just last year we were all here complaining about how Zinchencko our LB gets roasted defensively anytime he starts for us. We complained so much that some of us kept wondering why Arteta keeps starting him knowing how weak he is defensively. Then there was Tear-knee who was obviously not in the coach's plan and would not be at the club today if not for his constant injuries that has scared most suitors away. Tomiyasu who could've played the LB is almost always injured every eke market day. So how exactly were we doing well and not needing a LB before we signed Calafiori? For the life of me, I will never imagine anybody will call Arsenal signing Calafiori a luxury signing seeing how thin we are in the LB position. I will Merino is a luxury signing but certainly not Calafiori. As regards Ramsdale & Raya, it was obvious Ramsdale will lose his starting role going by the errors he made in the 2022/2023 season. Ramsdale was a good shot stopper that made really great saves to earn us points in his days at the Emirates but he also made so many errors that cost us points. If I don't remember anyone, I remember the one he made vs Southampton which led to those ones scoring within 27 seconds from kickoff while we were busy pursuing the EPL title. It was so bad that he had to apologize to the fans after the match . As much as I liked Ramsdale while he was with us, I don't really fault the coach and the management of the club for relegating to the bench after replacing him with Raya. He has himself to blame for that and nobody else. Arteta and the club management should take the blame for believing a washed Raheem Sterling would be a worthy deputy for Saka. Since it is clear that Saka's shoes are too big for Sterling to step into, it is only reasonable for them to make arrangement to sign another right winger on permanent basis since Sterling's loan is just for a year and will end in the summer. I also want them to sign a natural goal scorer who will help us convert all those chances Havertz has been spilling. It is nit too much for us to have the best of both worlds, I believe the club is in a good financial position and we should also make some money selling some of our players that are just occupying space in the team doing nothing. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by iamoyindamola(m): 11:46am On Jan 22, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:Because he's the main driver You just don't want to see it that way Board will drop money, arteta will go and look for 10 in 1 players to sign It as happened before and will still happen, we the fans will be thinking the player is for this position whereas arteta knows why he's getting the guy Normally cunha is a winger but I won't be surprised if he comes and play 9 Are we still blaming arteta 🤣 |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by iamoyindamola(m): 11:51am On Jan 22, 2025 |
johnjunior39:You get am🤣🤣 If them give baba money today na to shop for 4 in 1 defenders because his oga apari just got 2 new defenders |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by germaphobe(m): 12:11pm On Jan 22, 2025 |
Ceenachi:when we signed Ramsdale, he wasn't Arteta first choice but Raya, the management couldn't get Raya so we settled for Ramsdale because he was an improvement to Leno. When they saw an opportunity to get Raya after Ramsdale had cost us so much points, they did. Sterling yes, big fvck up. The only problem I have is not getting a Saka deputy, like a worthy deputy and not getting better cf(I guess kai blue blue magic at the end of last season was giving him hopes and vibes). Now let's talk about players that Arteta really wanted and even pursue and placed to the management but they couldn't do nothing but watch other teams take them away. Douglas Luiz. Vlahovic Gundogan(though barca was his dream club shaa, dream wey no work out) Joan Felix *Mudryk(don't know how he would have turned out, plus the replacement in Trossard have been good). Ps: Arteta himself have said in an Interview that kai signing wasn't his decior recommendation, he said and I quote "It was not my decision, it was our decision", there were people who made the recommendation and he supported it and the presented the idea to the management. Omor, I know say no matter wetin some of us say here about Arteta we will always be labelled not knowing nothing, and Arteta worshippers. so to de do plenty shaleye like this de tire me sef. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 12:15pm On Jan 22, 2025 |
iamoyindamola:Well, I can't speak for him as regards signing a player that can play across different positions; I believe he will have his reasons for doing that(chief of which I believe will be that that it enables players to step into other positions when the original player in those roles get injured). However, we shouldn't just discountenance his signings just like that. I remember how almost all the fans wanted Maddison as our AM only for him to sign Odegaard. Some of us even thought it was because of the 50 million fee being requested for him that was why we signed a cheaper Odegaard. Alas, today Odegaard is one of the best midfielders in the league while Maddison struggles to get a starting shirt at Tottenham. Arteta has his bad sides and faults, but so also does he have the good sides too. We shouldn't just paint all his efforts and decisions as terrible. Haba! It won't be bad if he signs Cunha or any other winger and still signs a striker too. Let's hope the board sees things the way we do. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 12:19pm On Jan 22, 2025 |
iamoyindamola:But the 4 in 1 defenders are a plus to us. Timber has been playing across RB and LB since the start of the season and it is an advantage for us; especially when the other players who can play the roles are out injured. There's actually nothing wrong in doing that provided the players are really good at what they do. Shebi we used to have Callum Chambers that was touted as being able to play RB,CB,DM and CM well; but we all saw how he was useless in almost all the positions. These ones Arteta is recruiting have shown themselves to be better. |

BlueRayDick:We questioned Ben white signing too, Ramsdale too, Gabriel too and when he was still raw some of us were quick to say "we said so". |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by iamoyindamola(m): 12:24pm On Jan 22, 2025 |
germaphobe:I think ebening scouted raya Because I remember they were in the championship when we first made contact and that was ebening first season All these players will not improve us Douglas Luiz is a flop at juve Vlahovic is not interested in leaving Italy Gundogan really? Make we turn arsenal to pension club na Felix and Kai in a match what a disaster 😭 Mikano flopped so terrible he found happiness in the gym Your list just proves arteta is not a good scout, no wonder majority of his buys are misfit None are these players are currently excelling except for raya Just one ooo |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 12:24pm On Jan 22, 2025 |
germaphobe:Exactly. I don't know why fans are quick to start lashing out and listing the signings that turned out bad immediately we hit a rough patch. We always forget about the ones that turned out good under the tutelage of the same coach. They even make it seem like it is only this current coach that signed flops meanwhile almost all our previous coaches have their own share of flops signed by them. |

BlueRayDick:Funny enough I will still take maddison currently Because he's a dead ball specialist and an active shooter |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by germaphobe(m): 12:32pm On Jan 22, 2025 |
iamoyindamola:Douglas Luiz, was he a flop while in Epl?. Vlahovic OK, he said he doesn't want to leave ok. Gundogan is much better than Merino they got, and if the pension players bring improvement, yes let it be a pension club. Thiago silver, Maldini, pirlo were still balling at 37. Felix is a baller any day any time twice on a Wednesday, the fact that it ain't working out for him currently doesn't mean he don't have it in him, except you didn't really follow his career. Xhaka was flopping till Arteta came, Sterling, Sane at City credited Arteta with improving their game and making them better, Saka too, Gabriel too. Whether evening scouted Raya or not, Arteta carried the matter for head the season we signed Ramsdale, so yeah he wanted him. |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 12:41pm On Jan 22, 2025 |
iamoyindamola:Maddison can't do half of what Odegaard does for us as a team. The way he pushes our attack and drives it , I've never seen Maddison do half of that. You are right that Maddison is a dead ball specialist and seem to be better shooter , but that's where it ends. The creativity of Odegaard will always shine through. Just look at that second goal socred by Trossard vs Tottenham; immediately Partey dispossessed Bissouma and the ball fell onto Odegaard's path, he quickly released the ball setting Trossard up for the goal. That and more is what has endeared Odegaard to the fans. He has also scored some nice placing shots in the past vs Man utd and even Chelsea. The fact that Maddison keeps battling with injuries while Odegaard seem to be quite healthy is another plus |

germaphobe:My point is ebening wanted raya, I didn't hear of see arteta interest in raya until we got As for gundogan, so you will take him ahead of merino🤣🤣🤣 Felix is in epl that's all that matters and he's flopping What did Douglas achieve in epl or big club like city |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by iamoyindamola(m): 1:09pm On Jan 22, 2025 |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 1:14pm On Jan 22, 2025 |
iamoyindamola:The point is no matter how good or poor a coach is , he will always have players that turned out good and players that never lived up to expectation under his tutelage. It is not peculiar to just one coach. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by johnjunior39(m): 1:30pm On Jan 22, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:Chief be honest , in order of priority after last season was defence really the issue ? Not taking anything away from Calafori because I am a fan too but the fact remain that there were order of priority man. Is a norm. It was clear to all and sundry that there were games attack was found wanting. We knew that Saka needed a deputy but we took that money to buy a defender when we had more clean sheet. For Merino, course there was need for additional Midfielder but not Merino. Now we have two aging DM, we don't want to start addressing it now |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by germaphobe(m): 1:32pm On Jan 22, 2025 |
iamoyindamola:we have been looking at Raya 3 years before we signed him. Merino is still adapting to the league in my own books, so I won't write him off so quick. Felix is a quality player and his talent and shits is still there, unless you dont watch him enough. maybe it's the system and his surroundings that's affecting him(I no dey rush cancer person, lie lie) Asking me what Douglas achieved in Epl is like asking me what Rice have achieved in Epl. Because he played for midget club were trophies ain't a thing his contributions shouldn't be acknowledged?. Talking about man city where he never played a single competitive match shows you really didn't follow his career but just read he signed for man city. |
