As the final batch of the 2024 National Youth Service Corps three-week orientation camp begins today, PUNCH Online has gathered the addresses of orientation camps across the country from the NYSC website.

Tips for PCMs:
Ensure you have your call-up letter, required documents, and survival pack ready before travelling.

Avoid travelling at night for safety reasons.

For those redirected to other states (e.g., Lagos PCMs to Ekiti, Ondo, or Osun & Abuja PCMs to Nasarawa or Kaduna), confirm your camp location before departure.

But why can't the FG or NYSC board partner with Air force or other airlines to lift NYSC corp members or partner with a transportation company for easy movements, providing escorts, subsidizing transportation. Corp members don't suppose to pay for transportation if they are serving the nation. That is the responsibility of the FG.
It's just like FG officials paying from their pockets on official assignment or a soilder using his personal money to take himself to war theater. We can do better

I really pray that this batch doesn't suffer kidnappings and accidents.

In my opinion, NYSC has lost its usefulness. The country is too volatile for a redundant scheme. I read a tweet (which I hope is false) that some Unilorin students were kidnapped today on their way to PH.

I served in Akwa Ibom. When I was in camp, I took ill. There were no drugs. Evidently, the person in charge of drugs had squandered the money, and anytime state officials came for inspection, he'd borrow drugs for decorations. Many many people took ill, and they weren't treated because there were no drugs.

NYSC has become a haven for deep rooted corruption. What is supposed to be an experience has now become a money-gobbling scheme. It's sad.

May Nigeria not happen to us.

Don't know why present governor of Imo is yet to return Imo NYSC camp to Umudi where it has been with infrastructures built for it, until Okorocha son-in-law hijacked the camp to his village in Eziama. .

Mine was at Kaiama, Opokuma/Kolokuma LGA, Bayelsa State.

I feel this scheme should be scrapped tho, it has outlived its usefulness.

Mine was in 2019 at Umunna, Bende LGA, Abia state.
Enjoyed it because I usually stay in the camp clinic attending to the sick corp members and even soldiers. It was flexing.
No stress. The army commandants normally come to the camp clinic to gist with us. Our food are brought to the clinic for sharing and most times, we don't eat much of it.
We attend to any event we like in the camp and go at our convenience.

Government should increase the allowance for corp members if actually they want this scheme to succeed. The present economy is nothing to write home about and it's negatively affecting the corp members.
Even some female corp members from poor homes resort to following men around town just to survive because of the meagre allowance.

I bleeped some gil at my camp at Yikata camp in Kwara only to discovered she was engaged to be marriied immediately after camp and true to form, she wedded immediately after camp ad moved with hubby to Lagos before finally moving with hubby to Canada few months later.

Currently facing same situation we might be lucky to still keep them after the service year.
