The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit has apprehended a hit-and-run driver, Dauda Bello, over alleged reckless driving.

The task force’s Director, Press and Public Affairs, Mr Abdulraheem Gbadeyan, confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.

He said the incident, which occurred on Tuesday, left the victim, Oluwole Bukola, severely injured.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident was caused by speeding and reckless driving on the part of the driver.

“Swift intervention by task force ensured that the victim received immediate medical attention, while the driver was promptly apprehended,” he said.

According to Gbadeyan, the suspect is currently in the custody of the agency and will be charged to court in accordance with the law of the State.

I remember January 4th this year when a little girl just ran onto the expressway while I was driving, had to swerve hard and regain control of the vehicle to avoid ramming into the danfo that was by the bus stop.
