Richtaiwo:
So Oyo contributed N272 billion and received less than half while Imo contributed N4 billion and received almost 18 times same amount. Is that supposed to be a state or a syphoning structure? Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Abia should be merged as one state. Wtf.

God bless Tinubu on the Tax Reform Bill. Very soon, the Bayelsa model will apply where contribution and receipt are almost the same. Monkey wey dey work no complain, na the baboons wey dey chop come dey complain of marginalisation.

Let's not even talk about Lagos before some economic migrants claim they developed Lagos. Lagos contributed 2.7 trillion and received 460 billion.
Where is the incentive for states to work on developing their economies, why should a gov bother when he can get over 1000% from his paltry contribution......there is absolutely no incentive to work.....also how can Ogun and gombe be equal on vat contributions, something is definitely not right considering the huge economic activities going on in Ogun compared to Gombe.....pls can anyone help me understand?

I blame all these military government creating all these parasites states that cannot sustain themselves.
Imagine Imo state remitting 4b to collect 70b.

Don't get twisted tax reform will not revive some states because they are used to feeding bottle funds from Abuja

The laziest governor award goes to...
Uzodinma of Imo state!

Blockhead as governor!

According to the statistics above.

Imo:
N 4bn to collect N70bn.

Highest scam of the century.
If you doubt it, check ✔️ the percentage difference.
You go hail grin

EBEk101:
Lagos generates substantial revenue because many multi-billion taxpayers, despite operating in other states, pay taxes to the Lagos State Government due to their head offices being located in Lagos. If the proposed tax bill is passed, it could compel these companies to pay taxes to the states where their operations are based, rather than to Lagos. This could significantly impact Lagos' revenue and shift the financial dynamics among the states.

States like, delta, rivers, Akwa Ibom, Kano, kaduna etc
that's why northern states like Kano and Kaduna govts, unlike others, kept quiet on the tax reform bill, they knew it was swinging in their favour

Imo state.
If only they could tax hookup. If only.
Imolites were deceived and leadership fixed by APC has led to her diminished economy. Imo had much better VAT generation under Okorocha but it wasn't used as a parameter then but now that they've used insecurity and inconsistency to damage the economy it has become a factor.

Something is absolutely not adding up in this report. Is the FACC funded with VAT alone? This report is wuruwuru, how about the funds from crude oil and gas sales, where are they?

From the report, it seems like VAT is just a fraction of what makes up the allocations.
It's mischievous to only account for VAT leaving out the main sources that fund Nigeria. Those that release these figures are hardened criminals.

Oyo got half of what was contributed. That doesn't support your argument.

VAT is largely paid by industries.so those states accommodated the big industries, protected them best, appeal to them most, and provided for the more than others. It is fair they get rewardedfor the above listed effort.

They should also account for the gas sold from Imo. They're not telling us everything we need to know.

Lagos does not contribute 2,5 trillion. Consumption VAT for other states are being allocated to lagos because many head offices of business reside in Lagos.

You are deliberately trying to divert our attention. Your response is not in tandem with what I asked for. I ask that the funds from the sale of crude oil and gas from imo, abia and Anambra be accouted for.

The makers of this report are trying to make it seems like Nigeria is funded with VAT whereas VAT is just a tiny fraction of what is sustaining the country.
