But if you block the school fees money, how will one be able to withdraw it at once to pay the fees? We know this block account people pay out monthly
They payout €992 for the student visa. You can withdraw the rest. Email your provider first before you do so. The embassy might also accept Nigerian proof in your name. Depends on who handles your case

U sabi this process wella. U just remind me of my time.

We chopped and digested the whole process, unfortunately these Genz no wan do anything for themselves, not even to research.

Guys we are doing this thread a great disservice if we are getting our ADs and going for appointments and refuses to share to others the transcript of ur journey at the embassy. This is for posterity and to guide others, as well prepare those in the waiting list 😀

Exactly. Nairaland has the most comprehensive study guide for virtually all western nations. It's only proper those who benefit from it should occasionally share their testimonies with others. That's how the platform grew

Thank you very much. I was able to do the notarisation like you mentioned.
Please I was wondering how long it took for them to give you a date as category A applicant.

Also, I got scholarship on my tuition about €8000 from my school (a public university) and was wondering if that qualifies me for Cat A also...
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by mysticlover:
Please while reading through the thread, I saw something about enrollment letter. My school recently sent me my admission letter for winter/25 and I've paid my acceptance fees as although it's a public school I'm doing a master's in law and finance which is rarely free. Payment is in two installments; one in October and the other in April/26

In the deans letter sent to me, I wouldn't be enrolled until 50% payment of tuition fees are made.

I also have scholarship on my tuition from my University and was wondering if I can apply for CAT A with it.

My question now is that can I still apply for appointment without the enrollment letter? My plan was to pay my first installment around August/September.

1. Yes you qualify for CAT A.

2. You don't need an enrollment letter to book an appointment, that will be requested if they decide to give you the approval mail.

3. Your scholarship covers tuition not living expenses right? If so, you must submit BA/SL

4. They'll read your admission letter and you'll only get approval when you pay that 50% needed by your university.

For now, book your appointment. It comes within a week for Category A. You can use the new digital portal

Thank you.
I was also wondering on what I can use to show proof of funds for the tuition fees as it's requested in the optional document section on the application portal. I was seeing stuffs from the thread like statement of account, BA etc

Also is there any advice for SL as my tuition is almost €20k so BA isn't kind of an option right now,,,

The embassy will ask you to pay the tuition and show evidence or block the remaining in a German block account. Statement of account won't fly. I've seen it work for only one person last year.

For SL, you have to get someone you know who is willing to issue you the letter.

Alright thank you for the information. Is health insurance needed for the visa application or after approval?

Please, was your brother allowed to do the interview with the printouts of the appointment email notification?

Has anyone successfully done the visa interview this January with pending BA or SL? My brothers interview is on 21 Jan, I’m trying to process SL for him but the appointment date I was given is 28th February and they are claiming they don’t have an earlier date. If anyone has a recent experience please share. I’m thinking of printing out the SL appointment email for him but since they’re becoming more strict I don’t want to gamble.

If you have it before, take it. Rest assured, you can't enter DE without health insurance. Get one from Dr Walters which you only start paying when you're in DE

Jan 21st is past already. Or am I missing something? He needs to email them and inform them he's not ready. They've stopped accepting incomplete applications. Or best he attends and show Paulinus the SL appointment. He'll still be asked to go back and email thread embassy.

Please, how are we expected to show proof of all we've been doing till the appointment time? This is something I've been trying to get because I've been basically self-employed, but that's not what I put in my CV, so I don't know if they need employment letters or payslips.
Hannania:
They don't care about that. Go through the study checklist, they stick with that

They just need your CV and motivation letter. If they need "proof", they'll request for it. That's very unlikely

He wasn’t allowed to. He was asked to reapply and send an email to the embassy when he has the complete documents.
The advise was he could have sent an email to the embassy before the interview date and it would have been rescheduled so I’ll suggest you do the same.

Thanks for this cos I always thought CAT A is for those with full tuition scholarship and probably with a living allowance.

Just to be sure, when one is accepted in a free tuition institution does that count under CAT A as well? I don't have a first-class that's why I want to be sure.

Hi everyone,

What does it mean when your intended travel date is today and you haven't received your passport yet. Any experience with this?
Hi, please how long did you wait for your approval mail after the interview?
