Are you for real? It's obvious you don't know how things runs in telecom sector. Is it cost of running their diesel generators or monthly maintenance expenses or their daily transportation expenses or emergency repair and replacement of equipment or equipments upgrades, or monthly PHCN bills e.t.c. these things are extremely expensive and they come on daily and monthly bases. If not talked of workers salary, and tax. Remember their sites works 24/7.

Stop defending what you don't know.
Products are different. Someone selling food would need to buy raw materials every day. This is not the same with someone selling water.
Telecom and electricity are like some one selling water. You don't invest on daily basis.
It is only in Nigeria that the government and the people will just wake up and increase prices by 50 to 10000% and expect everyone to be happy because there is inflation.

Do you realize that the majority of telecom cell sites run diesel generators continuously 24hrs 365 days a year, with some burning 10 to 40liters per hour...do you know how much that cost
We have not even talked of fees paid in USD to vendors, shareholders, banks, government, etc
Maintenance lease, internet gateway lease, etc all paid in dollars, bank loans/facilities that need service, most of which are in dollars...
Cost of diesel is up, exchange rate is up, cost of goods and services is up, importation of spare parts is up, cost of transport is.....
Oga no just talk wetin you know nothing about...

Are you saying we should be happy because of the 50% increase? Can you go to South Africa or any advanced country and increase prices in one swoop of 50 to 100%.
It is the thing we are talking about.
The government did it, you people supported it. Then every other person is doing it and you continue to support it. The question is, is that what happens in other countries. Is it right?

would you prefer that our current telecom infrastructure collapse...These are private entities, not government
Check the history of telecom companies and see how many have folded because they could not break even....

Also what advanced country suddenly increased the cost of fuel by over 400% and has inflation rate in double-digit

Let's compare apples with apples, not apple and orange

Una dey craze!!! Petrol increased more than 300%, una no do anything. But you want a company not to increase it's price by 50%.

Even electricity tariff increased more than 200%.

Clowns, leave telecoms alone!

I don't even understand why government is putting a cap on what a private telecom wants to charge but they allow petrol to be selling at any price.
A wonder oo.. i have been asking this question what right do they have to that.
