That all started under an incompetent Good luck Jonathan who would have easily quashed it from the root.
Mind you, the current Vice President should actually be in jail by now... It all started with him.
Good luck cleared boko haram 2 weeks to d election that he lost wit help of south african mercenaries.Boko went silent for more than a month becos d mercenaries used their own weapons n intel sidelining completely naija millitary.Bastard buhari came in n cancelled d millitary contract given to d mercenaries who had already drastically degraded d attack capabilities of boko haram within a month of combat.
I still dont know why nobody is talking abt this,we forget too quick in this country.Buhari was d problem. This thing would hav passed by now

Terrorism is PDP's legacy, 16years and counting. If not for APC, terrorists would have overrun the whole country. This attacks happened in the lake Chad region which is the stronghold of ISWAP. As Nigerian Military is punching the teeth of Bokoharam, ISWAP, Bandits, Lakurawa, ODUDUWA, OPC, Are OMO ODUDUWA & co, may God grant us total victory.

RhinoChest:
I think every outposts, especially remote outposts like this one should have a risk assessment evaluation as to what the options could be if assaulted and what the response should be when attacked.

1) Fortification: Say our troops are occupying a remote outpost prone to terrorist attacks, first and foremost thing the Nigerian Military ought to do is fortify such buildings to withstand any direct attacks and give time for the military to return fire.

If an abandoned school is being used as outpost nothing wrong with that but some engineer corp should go out, modify the building to offer protection in case of any direct attacks.

2) Back up:
Why would you post military operatives to zones prone to attacks and not have ways they can call for back up at moment’s notice? Every of our active outposts should have back ups and reinforcements within minutes. Outpost A should be able to assist outpost B within minutes. It should all be rehearsed daily. If outpost A and B are simultaneously being attacked, there should be outpost C that ought to come to their aid!!!! There could also be mobile brigades that could shuttle between outposts.

3) Air Support:

You don’t even need fighter jets, all you need are helicopter gunships that could get to outposts under attack within minutes and repel any attack. While repelling the attacks, ground reinforcements could further aid in repelling the attacks. Two gunships and the third helicopter dropping additional manpower could be all that is needed before more troops arrive.

You don’t need huge budget, all that’s needed are proper coordination and training with the limited resources at our military’s disposal.

Also, there should be cheap drones that could always fly above all our outposts day and nights that can provide advance warning on any impending attack to both the outpost and command and control to send back ups.
Do you really believe that all these are not in place? There is a way people comment as though you genuinely believe that you have all the ideas and those who are actual professionals in this field have none. How can you attempt to profer solutions to a problem you don't fully comprehend? Have you been on the ground to assess the nature of the threat? You think life is about reading from a textbook?

Lemme see how they'll level up Borno state as they did in Delta State. Or arrest their imam in t hat community, kill innocent youths, burn down houses and properties!

How is this even possible? Isn’t the army supposed to be trained and prepared for such attacks? This is a clear failure on the military's part. The fact that a terrorist group possesses superior firepower compared to the military is a damning indictment of the army leadership.

Banditry 2015, last I checked, terrorism did not start in 2015. A certain Party in power approved Sharia which then gave birth to a group of armed men who declared Education as Haram and wanted Nigeria be governed by Sharia. Since then, Nigeria has not had peace. So, when we're talking about the origin of terrorism in Nigeria, PDP and anyone associated or sympathetic to the party should be made to face firing squad for what they brought upon our country.

Behold the legacy of APC under Buhari and Tinubu, a government of lies and propaganda.
this is not politics, this is stupidity.
Soldiers have died, people’s brothers, parents and friends have died but to you it’s revenge politics.
Bokoharam has never had it this bad until tinubu came into power, they’ve suffered multiple losses even in recent months, bandits are having it too bad too. Common sense should have told you that those who don’t want the war to end are at play.
You ever asked yourself how terrorist got access to drones?
We have a bigger enemy here and your using politics to hide them.
It’s a shame if you ever went to school..

Mallam Fatori again? One thing I hate most about this country is that we ñever learn.. The government don't learn, citizens forget easily, country saturated with mediocres and love deceiving themselves alot.
Aa country filler with fake patriots who prroffes love forr the country only when it suits and favour them, a country where people hate the truth, embrace lies and decite only to turn around latter and cry when reality dawn's on them.
The same Mallam Fatori is the single area where the Army has recorded the highest casualties in this self inflicted war and yet, the Army has not learnt or mastered the art of ensuring the right measures is taken to avert a repeat of this event.. What a useless country.
Exactly my thoughts on the same Mallam Fatori.
See how military bases are heavily fortified in Iraq and Afghanistan that enemies are sighted over miles away.

What happened to the super tucano jet fighters that should be deployed in minutes.

Nigeria is not yet ready for anything, nothing more, nothing else. It's a big shame

But all he said is the true facts.
Modern military are proactively engaged not reactive.
The military base is in an isolated place that has witnessed massacres of our Soldiers over the years. So the base should even have up to 4 layer protection.

But no, the generals will prefer to embezzle the money.

This is kind of news some devilish people are happy and always want to hear to taunt their perceived political enemies at detriment of the our military and the nation.

"Where are the dead bodies or else I don't believe"that would have been their statement had it been it's other way round.

They know what’s really going on, they know how to solve it but…NO!!! they won’t for one reason or the other how will a terror group be taking on the Nigeria military going to 16 years now…countless people dead…military personnel dead and they pretend like it’s normal

OMO!!!! Just OMO!!!!

Some group of selfish MF are definitely benefiting from the trouble going on in the North

And some group of myopic fools from the South East region borrowed a leaf from that book and brought insecurity and killings to the South East and hiding under IPOB and ESN ( looking at how easy they blame these two for any insurrection in the east)

God Forbid!!!!
