Re: Who Will Explain This Faith. by gohf:
What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see.

By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

All of these people we have mentioned who had faith and acted received God's approval because of their faith, yet none of them received ALL that God had promised. For God had far better things in mind for us that would also benefit them, for they can't receive the prize at the end of the race until we finish the race.

But while waiting they believed and obeyed

So you see, it isn't enough just to have faith. Faith that doesn't show itself by good deeds is no faith at all--it is dead and useless.

You see, Abraham was trusting God so much that he was willing to do whatever God told him to do. His faith was made complete by what he did--by his actions.
So you see, we are made right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.
Rahab the prostitute is another example of this. She was made right with God by her actions--when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. Just as the body is dead without a spirit, so also faith is dead without good deeds.

It was by faith that Rahab the prostitute did not die with all the others in her city who refused to obey God. For she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.

It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.
It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham, who had received God's promises, was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac,...

For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold--and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold. So if your faith remains strong after being tried by fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
Take a firm stand against the devil, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.

If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.

For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.

The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!" "We need more faith; tell us how to get it."

And the Lord answered, If you had faith(trust and confidence in God) even [so small] like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, Be pulled up by the roots, and be planted in the sea, and it would obey you.

If you obey God other things would obey you in obedience to God. Be it in small things or in big things. But faith is never about what you want but what you are told to do

"When a servant comes in from plowing or taking care of sheep, he doesn't just sit down and eat. He must first prepare his master's meal and serve him his supper before eating his own. And the servant is not even thanked, because he is merely doing what he is supposed to do. In the same way, when you obey me you should say, 'We are not worthy of praise. We are servants who have simply done our duty.'"

So faith comes from listening to the message and commands from Christ.

Those who have faith overcome obstacles to reach Jesus Christ, son of the living God

Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a sleeping mat. They tried to push through the crowd to Jesus, but they couldn't reach him. So they went up to the roof, took off some tiles, and lowered the sick man down into the crowd, still on his mat, right in front of Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the man, "Son, your sins are forgiven."

Among the crowds pressing on Jesus a woman with a 12yr menstrual flow who is considered unclean by the law saw a crowd surround her only path to help and thought, "If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed." As she tried to sneak away with her healing she heard what Jesus said and realized that Jesus knew, she began to tremble and fell to her knees before him. The whole crowd heard her explain why she had touched him and that she had been immediately healed. But instead of a rebuke she heard "Daughter," he said to her, "your faith has made you well. Go in peace."

A Gentile woman came to Jesus, pleading, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! For my daughter has a demon in her, and it is severely tormenting her."

But first Jesus gave her no reply--not even a word. And Then his disciples urged him to send her away. "Tell her to leave," they said.

But she didn't give up and they said "She is bothering us with all her begging."

Then Jesus answered her, "I was not sent to you the Gentiles."

He didn't answer me, his disciples wanted to kick me away and now he says he wasn't sent to me, no my daughter can't continue to suffer because I am a gentile, so she came and worshiped him and pleaded again, "Lord, help me!"

But it wasn't enough

Jesus replied to her humility and plea "It isn't right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs,"
"Yes, Lord," she replied, "but even dogs are permitted to eat crumbs that fall beneath their master's table."
"Woman, Good answer!" Jesus said to her, "your faith is great. Your request is granted." And her daughter was instantly healed.

She believed in God goodness even if God didn't send the savior to the gentleness, even if the Messiah ignored her, even if the disciples didn't want her, she refused to be discouraged, even when seen as a dog despite her worship to the lamb of God and accepting him as Lord. Her faith made her stay and wait, her faith made her persevere even though the testful word were painful. She did not relent and remained.

Faith doesn't care about the laws of moses or the religions of men, faith doesn't care about the circumstances or the humiliation involved, faith is focused fully focused on believing that God is good and He will do good to me, He will forgive me, He will help me, He will save me, no rule can stop God, no law can, no one can. There is nothing impossible for God to do even things we don't deserve God can let us have them because He is merciful and kind.

Faith gives us confidence to hope for what God has promised us, because faith is obedience to God who cannot lie, who cannot change his mind and who cannot fail.

Great faith is realizing that compared our brother and Lord Jesus Christ, we are his servants, Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed!

Faith comes from humility to completely submit to God our Father the sovereign YHVH

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in Jesus will do what he was been doing. They will do even greater things than these, because Jesus is with the Father. And what did Jesus do, he obeyed and submitted and God worked through him.

Should I speak of the begger who kept pleasing till he was heard and healed, because with faith we can cast out demons and mountains of obstacles. With faith we overcome storms and trust that with God our lives are secured. With faith we believe even though we have not yet seen, we obey even though we are yet to be rewarded.

With faith we overcome fear and worry, with faith we please God and love God absolutely, with faith we become responsible and righteous with the things of God. For from faith in God comes out righteousness and deliverance

From faith comes righteousness and the righteous live by faith, growing from faith to faith

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3: 12 - 14

Why did you delete your question? Are you afraid to admit to yourself that the religious idea of faith, though popular, resolves to nothing at the end of the day since it seems to apply as far as every human being, even animals? grin

Actually, I was conversing with myself in prayer when I received a prompt that the prayer was wrong. It made faith appear new and different from what I practiced. It was personal.I learned. Faith is not something you teach. It is inherently built by knowing.
Different kind of faith really.

You received a prompt that the prayer was wrong? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

2. Oh, so every human being and animal has it since it is inherent then? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

3. It is inherent but at the same time different? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You won't believe it. I was dismissing the voice until the prayer appears to be meaningless to me. Then came the silence and the explanation. I was humbled.

Even animals has their kind of faith. It grows by knowing. You can actually learn faith from animal. Not trying to be scriptural about it. But when you see it, peace follows.

1. The voice in your head was your subconscious trying to make you finally accept the vanity of your actions. That is all it is. undecided

2. If this faith of yours is not in any way unique to any creature or set out there, then wouldn't it be the one evidence of the futility of your beliefs in even your particular religion? 🤔

My subconscious you said. Does that mean I have dual consciousness. I don't know you believe that. And I wasn't even just waking up making this subconscious appear very active while one is fully awake.

It is really vanity and vain doing the wrong thing or exercising the wrong belief and expecting a religious kind of result. I wish I could appreciate this voice in my head that you called my subconscious for coming to my rescue.

The only thing is the rescue I received from this my subconscious used texts from my particular religion that you think is futile. I still wonder why. Maybe it is because it is what I already know and my subconscious had to draw from what I already knew but wasn't paying attention to. It could have told me it is futile to pray. That would be easy

1. If you don't understand the meaning of the term subconscious, I suggest you do some Googling so you can finally be in the know. 🤔

2. If you could control your subconscious then it would not be your subconscious, would it. Look, your subconscious is a part of you that compiles everything you experience and supposedly learned together to come up with a possible solution to problems. The quality of output depends to a great deal on the quality of input, kind of like AI. You feed it clean data and it is able to churn out possible best for solutions.you feed it garbage and you are likely to get you that out too. undecided

3. Like I said, it could be Garbage in, Garbage out is quote possible. undecided

I don't know which provoked you to change your tone. But for what it's what, I found out dual consciousness concept exists scientifically.

I had believed that subconscious activities happen when one is asleep. Now I know it happens when one is awake. Thanks to you.

You were excited to inform me about my subconscious showing me the futility of religion in your previous conversation only to term the feedback from my subconscious possible garbage because it was a prompt based on religious beliefs still.

I believe you have filtered every information in your subconscious of possible garbages to know which prompt from another person's subconscious is possible garbage. After all, there are some superior AI out there.

The subconscious learned from ones experience and knowledge. But your subconscious telling you that something you know is wrong and providing references why it is wrong while you are still speaking has to be a disorder or from a different subconscious still in ones mind. Don't you think so.

1. I didn't change my mind. I merely said you should investigate the topic for yourself so you become more educated in that regard. The subconscious is there all of the time only it is much more active at night than in the day when the conscious is or seems more in control. undecided

2. Yes, one has to actively filter out the garbage and the subconscious can help in the process as it is after all in charge of memory storage. undecided

3. But that is part of the job of the subconscious, to remind you of the facts as opposed to the misinformation your mind continues to hold on to. undecided

Say, I met a lady last week who wore a pair of red shoes when she approached me while I was out on a sales visit, and then during a conversation with my boss, I mentioned instead that she had on a pair of blue shoes, my subconscious is likely to immediately flash back to the image stored in my brain from the time in question to remind me that it was a pair of red shoes. Memory flashes, recalls, etc, are all part of the job of the subconscious. As I said, it kind of works like an AI does. undecided
