I Use Master Key To Steal Cars, Change Chassis Number - Suspect (video) by Biznesworld(op): 10:51pm On Jan 26, 2025

A thief who stole cars using a master key has been caught. Here's how he did it:

He used a special key that could unlock any car most especially Toyota products.. He would find a car, unlock it, and start the engine. Then, he would drive the car to a secret place.

To sell the car, he would change the car's identity by altering the engine Chasis number. He would replace the vehicle's chassis number with a new one. This made it hard for the police to find the real owner of the car.

The thief would then sell the car to someone who didn't know it was stolen.

Major problem of old vehicles. The newer ones want open even if you use the right key as long as it doesn't get the signal from the chip inside the fob

The chassis number is documented in approximately seven locations on Toyotas. Does he replace all of those? Additionally, the chassis number can be observed when diagnostic machines are connected.

Regardless of the situation, it's essential to exercise due diligence when purchasing used cars. There is a website where you can check the brief history of a Toyota. It records the date the first owner took possession of the vehicle. Checking the VIN history is highly recommended to understand the vehicle's history before it was shipped into the country.

How does he change the car chassis number without being detected ?

Vehicle chassis are engraved in places one can hardly ever tamper with and would not be noticed.

This is one of the reasons why government should ban cars from being upgraded.

You will hear upgrade from 2008 to 2025

Lessons:
Make it a practice to confirm a car chassis with customs before purchase.

The history fact and the VIN ceases to exist when the car lands in Nigeria.

Of what use is the name of Mr Charles Dickings who purchased the car in Canada which you are buying at Berger in Lagos?

Car stealing is a global crime.

'In 2023, over 1 million vehicles were stolen in the United States, which is a 25% increase from previous years. This is equivalent to one vehicle being stolen every 31 seconds"

You may and verify
