Tragedy struck in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, after a yet-to-be-identified woman beat her housemaid to death for watching TV with her kids.

The 10-year-old housemaid lost her life as a result of injuries she sustained as her boss beat her to a pulp.

The incident was said to have happened on Sunday evening.

A source said the suspect, a mother of four, had brutally tortured the girl when she came back home and saw the housemaid sitting with her children to watch TV.

It was the cry of the girl that attracted neighbors, who stopped the woman from further inflicting punishment on the housemaid.

The girl was said to have died before arriving at the hospital for treatment.

This is no longer a joking matter. All underaged maids in Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi, Abia and Imo should be taken back to their biological parents houses. And those who are orphans should be trained in a good orphanage.
