ArcFresky:Most Nigerians don't realize that there is leaded and unleaded fuel. We don't care about quality, but I don't blame most of us. Nigeria is fond of selling you fake things in guise of it being of quality, yet it'd be at the price of something quality. |

In the long run there is no way imported fuel can be cheaper than Dnagote fuel ..I would rather buy Dangote fuel 1000 naira than buy that imported fuel that' burns 4 times faster for 960 |

toyeoye:The truth is always bitter. Continue to support a government that export raw materials to Europe, borrow from the Europeans to import and subsidize claiming is cheaper while the Europeans buys cheaper quality petrol from Dangote. |

kayperry:My question to you why is it so expensive either way? We have Oil!!!! we were told when Dangote open his refinery price should be down for Nigerians instead its skyrockted!!!! ;D2-3years ago..we were at the mercy of this so called marketers..begging them to import fuel!!!..now the story has changed.. Naira was btw 1000-1300 and they were saying landing cost was 730-800 now naira is 1600..landing cost is coming down!! Power of competition. ![]() |

Jomonix:The only way to protect Nigerians from monopoly is to remove subsidy which makes it profitable to refine at home Already NNPC is racing to get it's refineries ready, bua is there too, there are at least 3 other working private refineries and people are getting refining licences |
| Re: Marketers May Dump Dangote Fuel As Imported Petrol Costs ₦922/Litre by nairalanda1(m): 1:20pm On Jan 27, 2025 |
Prince001:1. 2000 naira was a lot of money back then. Most Nigerians won't have been able to afford new cars. 2. Cars were cheaper to make then than they are today. My second hand Toyota is more expensive manufacturing cost wise than my dad's 1983 Peugeot which cost him 13000 naira 3. People took loans to buy cars then. My dad's 1983 Peugeot was paid for with loans. Which had to be paid back. From the salary 4..Refining petrol costs a lot of money. It costs about 700-800 naira to produce a liter of fuel. The process of refining also produces waste that is a loss money wise. Then there is transport and maintenance cost plus the fact that dangote took loans to build the refinery. And the refining process is international standard, not rofo rofo standard Naturally petrol would be expensive |

Ijaya123:To make one liter even costs 700-800 naira. If dangote sold that same liter at 500 naira, his business will collapse |
| Re: Marketers May Dump Dangote Fuel As Imported Petrol Costs ₦922/Litre by kayperry: 1:32pm On Jan 27, 2025 |
Prince001:it is expensive becos both are under the influence of price control by forex & int'l market price imagine $1/500 today fuel price will be around #300 what the govt should be focusing more on is how to strengthen the Naira, that is what will turn around the economy |

Procashtips:We all that petrol importers usually have a landing cost of N1,300 but will price it N900 at their depot and demand N400 for under-recovery cost from the government and NNPCL is the leader. |
