Teachers, security personnel, and health workers supposed dey among top earners in any society.
Wages are determined by demand and supply, not entitlement.
There are millions of potential teachers and security personnel.
Only the health workers are better off, since their pool is limited especially as they go higher.

There is a great need for regulating bodies to look into this evil.
The only evil here is the potential violation of minimum wage law.

Better run away, private schools are dream killer. Many of the proprietors are spiritual in nature.
Nothing spiritual there abeg. Offering you 35k for working like a horse is already poverty in itself. It's like superstitions thrive when money involved is meagre.

Mammoth of refuse is being heapef on teachers mostly especially private school teachers by shylock and insensitive private school owners in many parts of this nation yet they set unrealistic goals coupled with barrage of complaints and demands from parents/ guardians.I wonder what National Assembly can't come up with concrete legislation to end this nonsense and exploitation of graduates.

Someone that used to brag about his frequent visits to the palace of the Emir of Kano (during Sanusi's first tenure). Such people, even if caught red-handed cooking teachers and eating them with okra soup, nothing will happen. They are government backed. The right persons have been settled to look the other way.

I can confidently tell you that the students in that school learn very close to nothing. The workload on teachers is insane to warrant quality impact on the learners, try as the teacher may. Hence, WAEC and NECO was as high as 100k, this was far back in 2019. Of course, you dictate how many A's and B's you want. My own student told me that to my face, in other words, you can go to hell with your Calculus; we don't need it to pass WAEC.
omo, this is really strange oh! What a revelation. Demonic indeed I must confess. Could people be this savage, evil and cruel. !

That was me in 2012 teaching Mathematics JSS1 to SS2 , intro-tech Jss 1 to JSS3 Imagining writing lesson notes for the subjects for all the classes alone.
You must Give students class exercises bulky Home work and mark them. If any students refuse to do the home work , the blame is on me, the ones that are average, the blame is on me , claiming every student is brilliant if taught very well.
The idiot wanted to entice me said He will increase my salary and still planned to include further-math for Ss classes
I ran for my life.
Thank God where I am today

The problem here is the employees and job seekers… stop showing desperation while on interview. Give them conditions as per why you will work for them. Give them reasons and make them understand that you might currently not have a job but you are not going to be overworked and paid peanuts.

Once Nigerians seeking for employment stop appearing desperate and know their worths , no private sector owner will treat you like shits, and also give them clauses that must be respected, if they go against it , it attracts additional charges per hour calculated by the number of days the contract got breached and sign it before accepting the job offer.

Do this and watch how careful your employers treat you. This is something every employee and job seekers must do to negotiate at least the price of one student’s school fees as salary. You can’t be accepting 100k naira as salary whereas students in that school pays above 500k as school fees..

If you must accept 100k a month, just tell them you will be teaching one class only and it will be once a week, maximum of 3hours.

Once you give your employer your power through desperation, even his dog becomes more valuable than you.

I built my self to where I am today, I don’t work for anyone, I told myself after seeing how employers treat their staffs that I won’t work for anyone while I was in Nigeria.
You suppose dey abroad sef. No one just becomes desperate by choice but by force. When parents don drive you commot for house or are on your neck to start fending for yourself and relief their burden, anything will just do.
I remember when I left school and I couldn't secure a good job for 2years and I couldn't stay at home either. I only had a retired mum (retired over 20years ago and no dad (dad passed away over 24years ago). I don't think such a person in that situation will comfortably sit to start makiñg demands from recruiters. Anything will just do at first. Na later your eyes go dey clear. I got my first job in Plateau state all the way from Lagos but I had to move there and that's how life began...

Chai, teacher dey suffer for this kontri oooo (most especially private schools registered under proprietor association 😂). 2015 after my NYSC, I wrote an application to one private school in my area, the proprietress was telling me to teach Physics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Chemistry (which as a fresh graduate then, I can still take) but upon discussing about salary, she was offering 10k, which I rejected. I asked her "are you subsidising school fees for all your student or is the school free for all your students"?. I later realised, each student in SS1 alone is paying more than 30k then. And she want to pay a stipend to teachers. Cr*zy proprietor.

Na so I decided to burn my CV and learn a baking skill. Today, baking pays all my bills.

All this applies to countries where hunger and poverty weren't weaponized. Oga me, if you think you have pride and class, for real you are fine on your own that's why.

Me I hate begging, I can drink garri with fasting just to avoid begging. Bro when I was diagnosed of cancer and stooling blood everyday. Baba, I picked phone and cry for help, thank God some friends and family people came through though but the bottom line is all about who needs the other most. Is it the principal that needs the teacher most? Or the teacher that needs the principal most. Who can stay without the other has the upper hand in negotiation. Most of the teachers that takes those peanuts don't like teaching, they only want to survive for the main time. If there is better option, more than 70% will leave

This is wickedness. Sometimes I wonder whether these private school proprietors have conscience. This is why many graduates of education choose other careers after graduation.
